Square Enix has delayed the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake from its previously planned March 3 worldwide release date to April 10, the company announced. It will be available for PlayStation 4.

Find a message from Final Fantasy VII Remake producer Yoshinori Kitase below:
We know that so many of you are looking forward to the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake and have been waiting patiently to experience what we have been working on. In order to ensure we deliver a game that is in-line with our vision, and the quality that our fans who have been waiting for deserve, we have decided to move the release date to April 10, 2020.

We are making this tough decision in order to give ourselves a few extra weeks to apply final polish to the game and to deliver you with the best possible experience. I, on behalf of the whole team, want to apologize to everyone, as I know this means waiting for the game just a little bit longer.

Thank you for your patience and continued support.

Coincidentally I've got the 10th-19th booked off work already. I was planning on actually revisiting and finishing FF7 (for the first time) before I touched the remake but now I'm wondering if I should just play the new one on release.

im actually kind of surprised by this, although i shouldnt be. i figured theyd given themselves plenty of time to make 100% sure they had plenty of time to polish it and get everything ready. if anything release it a few weeks early lol.

oh well, as long as it takes to make it right. hopefully this isn't a bad omen of things to come.

Of all the places to put it they thought in between Re3 Remake and Cyberpunk was the best spot?

I wasn't planning on playing it on Playstation, but I guess that possibly means the PC version is pushed back a month too.

In any case, whatever. If you need to delay a game then delay it.

I was dead set on double dipping, with PS4 now and then Xbox next year.

But in all honesty, that close to cyber punk? You may as well send it out to die, because that shits INSANE.

Maybe they are doing this because they think it will outsell cyberpunk? I can’t see that ever happening, but same time as RE3 as well...?

The balls on SE, good lord...

I won't probably play it on launch anyways, 250 reais is a lot of money for a game. I still have to finish Dark Souls 3 and its DLCs, The Witcher 3 and probably Days Gone.

With MLB The Show 20, Persona 5 Royal, and Cyberpunk all within a few weeks of eachother, FF7R is going on the backburner for me. I'll wait until it's like $30 in the summer.

This is going to be worse than 2017... 3 years ago everything was kinda spread out (HzD, Nier, Persona 5, RE7, Nioh etc) between Jan and May, now everything seems to come out in March and April (Nioh 2, Persona 5R, Doom Eternal, RE3, FF7R, Cyberpunk)... I guess FF7R has to wait a bit until I'm done with Cyberpunk2077

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.

Facts are crap? You're paying $60 for disc 1.
Midgar was more like the first 15% of disc 1 lol people remember it being larger than it was because of all the story scenes and location variety.

But the scale is changed drastically in the remake. Cant make a value judgement one way or the other till we find out the real content quantity.
