i got Final Fantasy X-2 International for $20 on Play Asia last year and its more fun than the American version. I don't see any probs with this game. Its fun, and so what if u miss the 100%, just do it again. No problems. sheesh.

look. Just because a game doesnt have terrible gameplay or graphics, doesnt immediately mean that it cant be a candidate for being the worst game ever.
No other game made me get so pissed off and it LITERALLY was a drag to play the game. I forced myself to play this game until 45% and after that I just couldnt handle the torture anymore. I never got so bored with a game in my life before ffx-2. Thats why I hate it so much.

I don't "adore" it. But it's obvious when people are being unfair to it. The gameplay is solid and for someone like you to say "WORST GAME I'VE EVER PLAYED", is just completely insane.

Ummm, you don't need 100% to get that ending. I played the game twice. Never looked at the percentage either time. Just had fun and did all the stuff I could find. Who cares about getting 100%? Do you people collect 99 of every item in every game you play and level your party to lvl.99 just because you need 100% saves as well?

Actually you get an extended scene to that particular ending if you get to 100%. It's an in-game graphics cut scene that's about 2 mins. Nothing fancy but it does give total closure for Yuna's story in the FFX "universe".

It doesn't have terrible gameplay and yet it's the "worst game ever"? As for forcing yourself to play a game you weren't enjoying, that's more your own issues than the game.

That's because you didn't get to chapter 5 to see the depth of the battle system. Via Infinito <3

Even then, the battle stands as the deepest psuedo real time/turn based system I've ever played. If an enemy is going to attack you, attack him to parry his attack. You can chain attacks, combo attacks with magic, chain magic attacks...and then there's the whole dress sphere thing. FFX-2 has a whore slew of gameplay options and some of the most untraditional gameplay elements ever seen in an rpg to date. I loved the non linearity of the game, and the fact that the story could change depending on your actions. The mission gameplay was also great. FFX-2 also has the best mini games in the series bar none.

That fight with Baralai on chapter 2 was so fucking fun.

FFX-2 = the most the fun I ever had with an FF, including FFT. However, I don't revere it as much as the other FF's because it doesn't have all the elements I love about the series. Thus, even though it definitely has the best gameplay, to me it is NOT the best FF.

Wow... this sounds awesome. I think I'll finally try this out. I've had it for ages (got it for $20) but never bothered opening it because it was so reviled.

This game gets a bad rap it doesn't really deserve (because of the FF tag, which it shouldn't have).

A few points:

1) This should not have been a FF. The story, presentation, and the way they treat it is just... unacceptable.

that said...

2) The battle system is amazingly fun, /fast/, and fluid

3) The Job System is a lot of fun and has always been my favorite FF class differentiation method.

Oh, and a few things to note on 100%

I don't think you can actually get 100% with only a single playthrough, so if you missed the moogle you can just get it later. It will also be pretty much impossible without a good, detailed guide.

Further... the game is NOT desisgned around only being played once. You are supposed to play through it several times (I've got ~205 hours on my save file and I've been through it 6-7 times... 2x Iron Dukes for each character~~).

Actually you can get 100% in one play thru. I did it, though I needed both the official strategy guide and the FAQs from GameFAQs to do it. The worst part is late in the game when you have to talk to various people enough times and in the right order to get certain percentages. I liked the game, but I wouldn't play it again.

having a not-terrible gameplay doesnt mean it's not bad, for the second time.
The game bored me to extreme death, and I didnt went playing this game with a "this game sucks" mindset at all. My hate for it started AFTER I played it. I didnt even knew hate for this game existed until I started to read opinions of people on message boards after I played it.
