I'd certainly like to see them try.

Curious to see what concessions they'd have to make, if any.

From the gamescon stream. Tabata said they are very interested in a console that sounds similar to twitch as part of bringing to FFXV to all audiences.
They're bringing FFXV to twitch? How are they're going to this? Via gold fish maybe?

I actually really want this to happen.

Already beat it on PS4.

Would beat it again on Switch.

I need my JRPGs on the go, man.

And if this sells well on Switch...maybe...just...MAYBE....

Final Fantasy 7 Remake says hi on Switch too.

Or maybe the devs are gonna stream a playthrough on Twitch?

I would be very interested to see how FFXV looks and runs on the Switch. That would be a big AAA test for the hardware.

If this would happen, really curious how much they'd have to sacrifice to get it running.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free

Well i would be fine with XII on Switch if they are talking about the FF series in general.
But it makes sense - Yoshida already stated that they would try to port their games to Switch if possible.

Multiple cartridges then? PC version takes 170GB. Console version is ~50GB.

I would be curious to see the technical trainwreck and major concessions. Game isn't exactly optimized.
But very likely this is a mis-translation (as in, it's probably a FFXV universe game and not FFXV itself).

If I was SE I would try to leave everything FFXV behind past 2017 and the PC version. It's the series low point.

Yeah, they surely will use the assets from the PC version on a Switch game.

lol
I'd really like to read his exact quote 'cause I don't believe it at all.
I watched it live...thats what he said. Something is coming to Switch and the teams loves the device.

Now I kinda want it to be the Pocket Edition version lol

Everyone is always interested in new consoles, that's just generic PR talk.

I'll believe it when they announce it. I'll laugh if it's the pocket edition XD

Im sorry if you think something that even slightly resembles FFXV is coming to the Switch than would you also believe Half Life 3 is coming to the Switch

No way could Switch run FFXV, at least not without quite a significant downgrade, which if you have to go through with that, what would be the point and would it really be FFXV anymore.
I'm guessing a FFXV spin off game? I reckon most likely it'll be pocket edition.

Screenshotted.

Remember this when FFXV gets officially announced for Switch.

Let's do the math.

Switch is selling like crazy in Japan.

Tabata is determined to make FFXV on anything.

Hmmm....

I wonder what happens next? :D

I think if it was the Pocket Edition they would have announced it for Switch alongside the mobile version...or even more likely announced it first on Switch and released the mobile version later.

Bút time will tell.

FFXV isn't this bastion of graphics it will have a downgrade but we aren't talking the call of duty games on Wii here

Pretty sure the PS4/XB1 versions were around 50GBs, that is still a gross size for a PC game, but the Switch should be able to get away with a 64GB cartridge, even if some DLC comes with the game.

As for compromises for a switch version, yeah it will definitely run at a lower setting, but I expect the PC version will run on lower end hardware, so it will almost certainly be fine. If it runs on intel integrated graphics for instance, well switch out performs that.

I think it will be the Pocket Version, but the reason for not outright announcing it now is to seperate it from the "10 episodes" thing. When it comes to Switch, it will no doubt be a complete full package from day one.

I was thinking they want to release all the episodes on mobile first then release a souped up complete edition on Switch.

0 chance anything remotely resembling the regular version of the game is hitting the switch. Anyone that thinks so has some serious learning to do about just how much weaker a system it is.

pocket seems the logical choice.
