So a lot of us have been waiting for the next patch for this TV as spoken about in this thread:

All this HDMI 2.1 standard has been a fucking mess. Really not regretting to wait for the dust to settle. I also don't like where they are heading with the "cognitive AI" bullshit that changes the image outside of reference, it'll be like a store demo settings where everything is exagerated to...

Anyway, Ive turned it on today and got the update. I know VRR isnt due on PS5 for some time yet but tested the xsx and it also still didnt detect capable device type. I have used HDMI 3/4 too.

Anyone else get the update and get VRR recognised?

If its not added by May tell your retailer that you didn't get what you paid for and you want to swap it for 2021 model that has it from launch (If such a Sony TV exists in May, it might be firmware update again anyway), they'll be happy to swap it and sell you insurance + other extras on the new set, then just cancel the insurance and refund the extras if you don't need them. Prob don't even need to buy the extra shit if its Amazon.
