There's no telltale signs that it's a games console, no circles, not white, no green lit areas..i'm sceptical until I hear for sure who it's coming from.

Wasn't there something said about the optional hard drive going into the top of the unit? Could the button on the front of the screenshot be the release to put the HD in?

And this certainly doesn't look like it's "sucking in its cheeks" like we've heard. Looks more like its blowing them out. Its possible this isn't where the disc goes, but a different side (or top?) of the console.

It's not the dev kit. The dev kit is posted in another thread, and has been verified to be a Powermac G5 (I've seen them myself) Go to www.apple.com to get a clear shot of the Powermac. It looks nothing like this other than the coloring and grill marks. The G5 is not shaped anything like the thing in this image. Maybe they got inspiration from the G5? Who knows.

Seems a lot softer and more "friendly" than the current Xbox logo, imo.

Yeah, it's a little reminscint of Apple..just friendly, clean, it looks techy too, but not in a harsh way.

Also, the green logo on a white background may be significant (or not). All the ads I ever see for Xbox feature the xbox logo on a black background..so this could be further "proof" of a shift towards white or chrome.

It's not the dev kit, maybe its another prototype model? It doesnt really fit the description we've heard, other than what looks like a release button at the front (replacable covers). It's not a very flattering angle, you'd think if they wanted to give you a sneak peak they'd at least make it a sexy one.

Personally I don't think that's the actual Xbox logo IMO, it's just a warpped out of version of the new logo, I bet during the unveiling on MTV it's going to be animated and spinning until it actually turns into something that has an actual form... you heard it here first

well, im assuming thats a disc tray, and we all know what size a disc tray is so you could guestimate the size by looking at proportions.

mind you this probably isnt what the system looks like. (why have a white controller and a silver system)

its not even a logo, its just part of the prehype marketing.

if it were the xbox360 logo it would be a pretty shitty logo. theres too much going on, its too open and its just not what a logo looks like okay!
