As sad as it may sound, this picture might look better than what will be the official costume for the movie.
It's not like he's going to wear a hoodie the whole time. I guarantee you it's him just trying to hide his face when he goes out for the first time with his new powers.

I'm sure they will use genetic splicing with electric eels as his origin. I had speculated about this when his character was announced a few months ago. It seems that they want to keep an animal theme going with The Lizard -> Spider-man -> The Rhino and now Electro as based on an electric eel.

Im not sure if this is sarcasm or what, but nothing about the character design looks like an electric eel. If his skin color/texture looked like that eel it actually wouldn't look bad IMO, so the idea you're suggesting is solid.. but what we have is something that visually is dumb as fuck.

Clearly this isn't his final look. People like to jump the gun on behind the scenes looks of these guys and they almost always end up looking 1000 times better on the finished product. Take all those behind the shots of thor characters, most looked terrible.

Considering that Ultimate's Rhino (or R.H.I.N.O.) is a suit of armor, it shouldn't be that hard for it to work. I would rather have that than a genetic mutation of some sort.
Huh? Isn't Andrew Garfield still playing Peter Parker? And isn't it the same person like it ASM 1? If so Peter Parker is still bad in ASM 2.
It seems there will never be a good Spider-Man movie until Marvel gets the rights back.

Eel skin is leathery and thick looking, and while it appears smooth it also has consistent tiny pebbling. The colors have minor fluctuations between different shades of aqua blue and green, and it has the slight chroming in certain areas as well. I'm just saying, it doesn't look like an eel at all..other than the fact that he is shiny blue. I like your idea though, it would look better if they actually emulated the picture you posted.
Basically, while he shares the shiny electric blue color, his skin texture doesn't come off as eel like to me at all. Especially with the electric looking veins.
Your critiques are reasonable. I see everything you are trying to point out and I don't disagree at all.

Also, you may be right in saying that is their influence..I just mean it doesn't actually look like eel skin like other than the shiny blue.
Now I want to see him with Eel skin and supplemented with electricity CG.

I like it (shrugs)he looks super creepy. It's kinda in line with the physical description of Electro in the Ultimate universes sans blue skin. Very burnt and cracked looking skin.

Still if they're just cycling through the ones that Raimi's series didn't touch, things are going to get ridiculous rather quickly. I am unconvinced that Mysterio, Vulture or Rhino will translate particularly well to the big screen.
