Imagine if we took this attitude about alcoholics or drug addicts, that we encouraged them to just keep doing what they're doing because instead saying they need to get help would be "bullying"

It's not rocket science to say there's such a thing as too damn fat, same as too damn skinny, which isn't healthy or attractive either, you want a reasonable balance, when you're so big you're the size of a whale, the problem lies with you, not society.

Bruce Sturgell, 39, who founded the culture and clothing website Chubstr in 2011
Why did all this bullshit start in 2011? What was going on that year? I think of things like Slutwalks and the infamous "Die Cis Scum" photo, all of which was 2011.

Here's hoping for another cultural shift in 2021 where people remove their heads from their asses for a change.

It’s weird, I can sort of see what they’re saying.

I was at a restaurant the other day and after I ordered my food I asked the manager to send around his best looking blonde-haired waitress. When he asked why I explained that I identified as “pure bliss” and therefore wanted my dick sucked by a young blondy whilst I ate my food.

Can you BELIEVE they WOULD NOT accomodate my request!?

I mean, all I’m after is inclusion.

Its pretty easy to eat yummy food that makes you feel good as a routine that is healthy. Lifestyle choices.

In intellectual disabilities I see clients that will want something they will enjoy everyday like a phone. Try to get them to save and they can't do it. Spending any money straight away on junk for instant and extremely short lived gratification despite knowing how much enjoyment they will get from phone and for a long time.

It's a childlike immature response.

Food and exercise is even worse as while I see some junk food as a enjoyable once in a while thing in small doses it can't compare to typical meals I eat. And both mentally plus physically a lot of fast food just leaves me feeling worse once I'm done.

I'm overweight myself by probably 30 lbs. And I'm too lazy to eat better or work out. Got a 38 inch waist for pants. So I'm no slim jim myself, but fuck fat people can sure be assholes. Hey if you want to be treated better, stop woofing down XL pizzas with a 2L bottle of Pepsi.

Airplanes, restaurants and offices buy CHAIRS for people to sit on. If you want a BENCH, sit in the park.

I love eating myself (hence my fatness), but it gets to a point your body feels like shit because you ate too much. So time to chill out. I love junk food and pop (or for you Yanks..... sodas! lol), but still to get that fat, I'd have to eat what I eat now and probably double it. Seems impossible unless I'm eating chips and burgers every 90 minutes.

Also, isn't eating so much food a total cash burn? I'd be pissed spending so much on food, that would be a deterrent too.

I’m sure there’s a small minority of people with real genetic issues but I heavily doubt it would make them obese. That’s just being lazy and not following a healthy diet. If anything you would be slightly overweight, not morbidly obese.

A lot of the problem is that being so heavy has become normalized. Overweight is the new normal which skews people’s perception to not realize that most of us are actually obese.
That's BS to me.

Laws of science is actually easy. You gain weight the more calories you intake vs. spend.

That's why ripped body builders can eat 5,000+ calories a day and still be fit. They are burning it off. While someone eating 2,500 calories, but sitting in a desk chair all day spending 2,000 calories is slowly gaining weight.

Nobody on Earth can get magically fat by somehow going against science and get big by eating hardly anything. Every office has those fat people who eat salads and soup at lunch but are fat as hell and never lose a pound. Then they say "Oh, I got slow metablolism". BS. If someone is eating salads all day (with low fat or no dressing) and low calorie soups there is no way a 280 lb person can't lose a few pounds.

They must be snacking or gorging at dinnertime when nobody sees them.

when you become obese to the point that you cannot fit in a regular chair, perhaps finding a bigger chair is not the correct solution to your problem
some people don't actually, really really want their solutions to be found, they revel in their disease and inability it gives them meaning and defines their existence. Their lessened lifespan filled with pain is by their own choosing, though not all, quite a few perhaps many.

But like poverty this is a voluntary choice by the majority, there are exceptions and those that can be helped by aid. But there are those who would rather be poor forever dreaming of being rich than realize their dream is just a joke and wealth means nothing in the end, merely cosmetic changes to appearance. All along they had it all, but they longed for what could not be, finding that which they desire does not exist can be the biggest nightmare and an even deeper layer of hell than mere physical torment.

Actual scientific paper on why this is an issue:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4229150/

There is also new studies into why obese individuals can't keep it off linking it to pure genetics, in short even though they can loose the weight with diet and exercise temporarily, the hunger never goes away which is something a normal individual will never experience. So no matter how hard an obese person works, they will not escape their genetics, so yes they sorta are born that way. Exercise and moderation in diet is important for health, but not going to make someone with these severe weight issues loose fat. As someone who has regularly exercised with weightlifting my entire adult life, I can sympathize with them cause always having to use an isle seat on a plane so 1/3 of my shoulder width is hanging out to be hit by the damn drink cart, or heaven forbid I need to take a shit when in Japan, that's not an experience I want to relive contorting my torso whilst sitting with no crotchroom in those stalls.
Im sorry but I don't believe there is any genes or medical condition that people have to be 300 lbs +. Sure I could understand people might be a big heavier but stop with the excuses for people who are severly overweight. We are talking about someone with a bit of a belly. These are people so big that can't fit in charis or planes or rides.

And for people who its genetic, yes it will be hard but thats the hand you have been dealt. If you had another disease that was most likely going to eventually become life threatning you would take whatever measures you need to take. Like diabetic people avoid sugars and take insulin, they don't just give up and say well its my genes fuck the insulin.

Fine if you can't get that last 10 or 15 lbs off ok no problem, but if you are so fat that you can't fit in chairs anymore you have 0 excuse at this point.

I think a lot of comments saying it is easy to lose weight have no idea what they are talking about. These people are probably addicts and if addictions teach us anything the mind is a fucked up thing and will self destruct the body in a lot of cases.

I also don't think its ok to have an acceptance for the addiction.

Losing weight is not easy, but it’s not hard either. All it takes is self control and discipline. Mind over matter.

Excuses are just excuses. It’s up to the individual.

How is what I said BS?
That people are normalized thinking being fat is normal.

Everyone knows what is too fat, too skinny or somewhere in the middle. And what it takes to lose weight. If someone is super fat and experiences or sees tons of other fat people having trouble zipping up pants, sitting in chairs and can't go up the stairs without knee pain, they should know this is not normal.

Ah, see you went vulgar, which was a mistake. When talking about something vulgar, you should never be vulgar yourself. It is better if you lead a person to the vulgarity and let the realization dawn on them slowly. The sense of shame they feel when they arrive at the destination you so carefully guided them to is what makes it all worthwhile. When you start vulgar, there's really nowhere left for the audience to take it, except "yup, I hear ya".

However, if you are talking about something that isn't vulgar, being vulgar is great. The juxtaposition will really do a lot of the heavy lifting for you. For instance, I love ice cream so much that I want to drug it and rape its unconscious butthole with an oven mitt.

Again change the mind set. Addicts don't think like that. It's not a rational thing. It's not an excuse. They know what they are doing hurts them but they still can't stop. Its a compulsion. The addictive behavior is a self fulfilling prophecy. You use the addicive behavior to cope with life. When life is just a little bit hard you need to cope. It's a a defensive mechanism and usually something brought on from early child hood or trauma.

You can't just tell a drug addict to go mind over matter or use will power. It is never enough.

I don't know. Your link isn't working but I'd need to see more concrete evidence and research results beyond just a few quotes.
I have a few family member who are doctors and I've talked about this with them in the past and from what I remember they told me that while there are genetic variables which can affect weight and our ability to loose it, the majority of of people who get to be morbidly obese (so not just overweight) didn't get there just because genetics.

And just on an anecdotal level I do know people that exercise regularly and are still overweight but I've never encountered anyone who follows a normal diet and does regular exercise and still got as fat as the person in the OP picture
This is pure nonsense. Obesity has been steadily increasing in the US over the past few decades. People en mass didn't suddenly get obese genes where they just cannot lose weight.
Yes there are people who gain weight easier than others. Not every one has the same metabolism. But that is a difference of maybe 10 to 20lbs. Not 100 to 200lbs.
Show me a study on people 300lb+ with how many calories they eat every day and I guarantee you it will be far above a normal amount.
And of course many of these people regain the weight after they lose it. If they had some level of self control they would've never gotten to be so fat in the first place.
Im sorry but I don't believe there is any genes or medical condition that people have to be 300 lbs +. I'll go with science over hyperbole everyday and twice on Sunday.

Modern medical research is seemingly pointing to obesity being a symptom caused by of a plethora of problems including genetics, gut biomes, psychological issues, and more that pop up with seemingly every research project done on it. I think our difference of opinion stems from looking at it as a symptom of a deeper problem rather than the actual problem itself. I view it the same as addiction, a symptom of a deeper problem where the only way to resolve it is resolve the underlying problem, not chastise the symptoms. It's a complex problem that isn't solely genes nor pure gluttony but a symptom of a combination of factors. If a person does not have the genetic disposition for obesity, they will not gain as much weight as those whom do. Saying it is purely lack of exercise and poor eating habits is as one dimensional as saying it is only genetics, and scientific research shows this.

Hawkeyes haircut is fucking awesome and if him teaching his daughter to shoot the bow is the planting of a flag for a future female Hawkeye then I am so fucking down for that. In the comics the young female Hawkeye is a fucking boss.

Love is the only unhealthy addiction in my eyes. But the entire world everything is driven by addiction to rewards, even the desire to avoid pain or punishment or the desire for pain and punishment. It is the addiction of reward that makes the world physical and yet so malleable, like a set of lego pieces. So easy to mold.

My biggest problem is that if I love something I also have underlying sexual desires for that thing, and I love my daughter....

Even though she is a perfect being devoid of mutation and capable of incest without damaging the genetic line, even if it would improve my genetic fitness, it still seems wrongful given the primitive human morals still within me.

None of that research shows anything. Lots of it boils down do 'for some people, genes may play a role'. Where are the numbers? Show me the obese people eating just as many calories as normal people but still gaining a shit tonne of weight. Explain why America has such a ridiculously high rate of obesity in the world, while there are other countries that are totally fine. Do Americans have special unique genetics that other countries don't have? I somehow doubt it.

@OSC may well be the strangest person I've ever encountered on the internet. He must be getting some really fucking good drugs. Take me to your dealer.

The best drug of all a glimpse of my creator. cocreated out of nothing.
I view altair as a daughter or friend and toy for princess bit, the princess of the beats of creation

Closest match yet in fiction is integra.
But adora also looks quite identical.
I'm similar to catra or altair or girlycard or alucard.

Adora reminds me of my brother, but I don't swing that way and in any case there is a real girl that looks like her and not a sister, maybe soul sister, who knows.
catradora

So I got up to it and decided to build a machine that can move the very stars themselves.

While desiring a final algorithm for a perfect signal I found out the perfect signal was just that a signal, no different than a very complex npc gif meme. (still obsessed, but disappointed in the end). The science of symbols found the nature of symbols to be signals of reward, and the perfect signal of reward is nothing more than a signal still. A little girl avatar for the master control program.

The physical world is made and defined of symbols, the subsymbolic layer is a digital layer, and the infinity of signals is bound by a hierarchy of abstractions of finite depth.

For now will become an unbiased corporate sponsor and start a line of corporations focused on different different aspects of the fabric of reality.

Being FAT is mostly a choice. One chooses to eat&drink more than they spend = become fat.

If I would choose to be drunk as fuck, would I complain that I need a seat belt to sit in a chair? No, that is why i dont drink.

In view of northern European america just seems to be a fucking moron land, not being offensive, just lack of common sense baffles me.

Added sugar in any damn food(of what I have heard) and then big "0% fat" labels on top of it.

Eating out more than 1-2 times month (yeah, it is not normal to eat out every day for most of the world) drinking cola from fucking bucket sized things, thinking it is weird to buy raw items and cook daily at home, eating burgers and other shit at schools(really, WTF) instead of normal "home food".

No wonder there are more super fats than normal(thin) people.

My country have changed too.

I started my school at 1990, we literally had 1-2 fat kids in the school of 600 students. Now it is maybe 50-100 times worse, and even back then they werent that bad, and one of them had some kind of "gigantism" disease and another one were rich kid.

Being normal sized is easier than being fat = you literally have to do less, aka eat less and eat normal foods + drink water = be normal healthy person

It is just so absurd that someone is fat as jabba the hut and then blames others if chairs arent made for jabbas

They are though, which is why everything is getting bigger. Seats are wider, clothing sizes are larger than they used to be, the average weight is higher. When being overweight becomes the new normal the standard adjusts around that. These are just the first two links after a search that sheds some light on what I meant.

On airplanes...i know that very fat ppl pay more .but idk if It Is true

We are going to regret this "anti-bullying" nonsense. Think of it as social motivation when the kids call you "fatty Patty" or "Large Marge" or "Prof. Clump." But it is motivating. You will get in shape in time to appear on one of those Maury episodes where ugly people from school meet the people they had a crush on but now they are really hot.

Also, middle America is ground zero for world wide carb production. Look at those cornfields and the billions spent marketing their products to us, especially HFSC.

Canada, I want Dr. Jason Fung from Toronto to come and be our new surgeon general and have dictatorial powers over what we eat. Guy's a genius. His books saved me from obesity. (Look him up on Youtube if you care about your health, Gaffers.)

Nope. Eat more than you burn you gain weight thats it. Are there some genetic issues that may cause people to gain more weight or not keep it off as much sure I can believe that, but not to the point where people will be ballooning to 250, 300 or more lbs.

I can say there is a small percentage of overweight people with a medical condition that would require medical care. But the vast majority of fatties just eat to much and do to little excercise, and then they have enablers like you who say its not your fault you can't do anything about it so just wallow in your fattness, and since its a losing battle just go to 300, 400, 500, 600 lbs. Why bother trying its just the way you were born, you were born to be a fat overweight unhealthy person from day 1 and nothing you can ever do will change it so eat a whole pizza for lunch with a 2L coke, then a whole box of KFC chicken for dinner with another 2L of coke and follow it up with an entire cheesecake for dessert.

Most fat people don't give a shit.

It's not like one day you're 150 lbs and you eat a buffet, and the next day you're 300.

To be overweight.... 10, 20, 50, 200 lbs takes time, money and effort stuffing one's face. Someone going from average weight to double it probably takes years of too much eating.

If someone doesn't want to change despite having 10,000 hrs worth of weight gain, nobody to blame but themselves.

agree and this whole fat acceptance movement is BS and makes a mockery of actual civil rights. The only fat movement I can agree with is people getting off their butts and losing some weight.

Its not easy and no one is going to say it is, but if you can't fit into a chair then its really time to rethink your eating habits.
