They are ok, they ended up going back and fixing a lot of things in Panzer Dragoon, but perhaps they are nowhere near a Bluepoint Games or the group that did FFX remastered albeit they all play around a bit with the art of the originals in sometimes so so ways.
Switch has the advantage of the lower resolution and XSX and PS5 are now here (not that Panzer Dragoon had big issues performance wise on PS4 and I guess it was decent on PC) so there is hope that technical issues.
They seem to be a cheap but competent port studio, like d3t.

TBH, I'd be willing to live with a visual overhaul or games like FFVI, FFIX, and others. Perhaps some gameplay tweaks but just keep everything text-based.

If we get a Chrono Trigger Remake and it's some ugly mid-low budget game instead of a nice production made by the DQ11 team I'll be disappointed.
Square has a team with experience making great turn based RPG's and adapting the Toriyama look to HD. It's the perfect fit.

Chrono Trigger doesn't need a remake, the DS version is perfect. Just rerelease that.
Final Fantasy VI, Vagrant Story, and Xenogears definitely need remakes, though.
And a Final Fantasy VIÍ without the Kingdom Hearts fanfiction storyline, of course.

Everyone here and in the comments of that Twitter thread seem to be looking over the fact it says "Panzer Dragoon Saga remake" when that hasn't been officially announced yet. Mistake/typo or was this an accidental leak? I'll have to guess mistake because they haven't finished Zwei yet, and if they just signed this deal I'll assume Square is going to get them on stuff right away, so they won't have 1-2 years to make Saga. Unless if they've already signed onto that project with Sega and Square is securing their services a few years down the road.
Anyway, Chrono Trigger seems like the most logical remake candidate. I wouldn't mind seeing them take a crack at FF6 as well.

I really want remake of FF VI, but with the same production values of the 7 remake, even though at the current speed that SE develops games, it would be released on the Playstation 6 in 2028.

Agreed 100%. Remakes sound great on paper but they always seem to fuck up the classic artstyle or feeling of the game one way or another. Usually better off playing the original.

I have replayed CT so many times I would take any remake over none, even if it meant simplistic 3D visuals.
