NeoGAF review thread

Gamespot: 9/10
With Forza Horizon 3, Turn 10 and Playground Games affirm the series’ status as the driving game for everyone. The new emphasis on off-road options isn’t at the expense of traditional races, thanks to the sheer volume of activities. All the while, Playground Games’ calculated kitchen-sink design philosophy and rich reward system persistently tempt you to explore beyond your comfort zone, whether it’s gifting your first Ariel Nomad buggy or reminding you that stunt races can impress thousands of fans.

Eurogamer: full review coming after testing the PC version and online racing
This was surely set to be an iterative sequel - not a problem when you're iterating on something as fine as Horizon - but what's truly exciting about Horizon 3 is how it doesn't just build on Playground Games' prior work. It folds all that's good about a particular, fun-loving strand of the racing game genre into one incredible feast of a game.

Press Start: 10/10
My expectations for Forza Horizon 3 have been quite high over the past few months, but after hours and hours of gameplay, extensively delving into each gameplay feature, it’s safe to say that Playground Games has managed to shatter every single one of them. Providing a deep, fun and addictive gameplay experience, Forza Horizon 3 is one of the best racing games of the generation.

Q. What resolution/frame rate does the game run at on console?
1080/30 on Xbox
Q. What about HDR?
Xbox One S console yes, PC not at this time.
Q. Is this a Play Anywhere title?
Yes it is but you need to purchase a digital version of FH3 to use this feature. Which also means it's cross buy, cross play, cross save.
Q. How can I play with my friends?
In addition to 12-player online free roam and multiplayer racing, FH3 features 4-player online co-op.
Q. Can I buy the game on Steam?
Q. How many cars are in the game?
Over 350 at launch
Q. HDR?
Didn't I already answer this?

Xbox Clubs- Interested in joining ForzaGAF? Preview members contact Noobcraft or Zorbsie to gain admission.Once unlocked I believe this will be the same as the in game club as well.

Special thanks to Zorbsie as well for supplying the image for the world map.

Now get out and explore Australia and watch out for the wildlife. Also don't forget.

Edit:
Alright boys and girls of ForzaGAF, I have the spreadsheet ready! I removed all the old info, so you are going to have to re-add yourself.

Quote this post to see the link and then add in your info!

That title! :D
Awesome job on the OT

For anyone interested, here are some instructions for joining the dashboard level (not ingame) ForzaGAF club:

If you're in the Preview Program search for the "ForzaGAF" club via the clubs feature under the community tab and send a request for an invitation.

If you aren't in the preview program but want to join anyways, download the "Xbox (beta)" app from the Windows 10 store and send an invitation request in a similar way to the one described above.

Once you've sent an invitation request, send Zorbsie or myself (or both!) a PM here on Neogaf with the gamertag you sent the invitation request with. We will accept the invitation request and send an invitation for you to join the club.

Thanks!

Got the digital Ultimate Edition for 60€ in Germany, can't complain about that price.

It's a bit more "tricky" to get it that way but it will be worth it :D

Now get me on board of that hype train!!

Nothing! I said nothing!
Not as good as Dirt Rallys OT, it's like you didn't want to do it.

edit: Beaten about 14 times. Great OT, I still think I am going to sell the copy I am getting though and buy it on digital at some point when I have a holiday from work.

etta

my hard graphic balls
But that "What a wicked game to play" title was the better one 😖😫😭

As much as I love the last two games (Horizon 2 would've been my GOTY 2014 if not for Bayonetta 2), I wasn't planning on getting the UE.

Then the demo dropped. And now I can't wait to get to it tomorrow. AHHHH.

So I love racing games, but believe it or not I haven't touched one since the original Forza came out......however long ago.

I mainly enjoy single-player driven campaigns where I start out with a clunker and just keep expanding my garage as I win more races while slowly trying out different racing formats.

Is this that kind of game or is it more of YOU MUST PLAY ONLINE or you're playing it wrong kind of title?

The single player is great. You'll be alright.

You start off with and keep getting really good cars however so you can't go from rags to riches, just riches to even more riches.

It's more single player driven but with well fleshed out community features. In FH3, it appears that you can play it pretty much however you want to in terms of what cars you want to race and where. There's not really much of a story if that's what you're looking for.
