Forza Horizon 3 (PC/XB1, 2016) Confirmed; Set in Australia

Rubber banding seems quite prominent after comparing those two gameplay videos. The driver in the second video slowed down, stuffed up plenty of times and went off-route a fair bit and still 'just' won by a similar margin to the first, who drove a lot, lot cleaner.

I guess it's needed in a game like this to keep things exciting?

Edit: I was comparing these two videos (as a third was added where the player comes second):

That's because they are showcase events and not regular races. In all the horizons the showcase events are tweaked so you always have the dynamic thing happening, otherwise the faster and slower drivers would never see the built in shots (like the jump with the helicopter). In regular races there is no rubber banding.

Ah, thanks. Good to hear. I played the shit out of FH but largely skipped FH2, so couldn't remember how it was handled in the FH series.

Yeah remember the mustag vs bi-plane or the hot air balloon race. Didn't matter how slow or fast you were it was always a nail bitter. Unless you completely fuck up ots hard to lose those.

I would expect this in these intro events. These are more like interactive cutscenes in a way - showing the new player how the game works.

try this link. different player - same car from the other gameplay footage above though.

Maybe my eyes are deceiving me, but while it looks really nice, you can clearly see the difference with PC but i guess that is to be expected. That Scorpio can't come soon enough.

But this footage is on the Slim, so it will look a little different on the standard Xbox One due to no HDR on current one?

it's hate to lose them but almost always feels like you're going to. the tension in those races are fantastic, even if it's mostly manufactured

this makes me really want to go back and play the first game. i played over 100 hours of 2 but never even finished the first one

Now that you say it. I more or less expected to get FH1 for BC free with a preorder. hm.

I must have said this before but I wasn't really sold on Australia until yesterday. Gameplay demonstration made me a believer though. Wow.
These guys are the best 1st party Microsoft has, with T10.
I'll be there day one on PC.
And i'll probably be there on day 365 again on Scorpio :p

I really hope the offroad racing portion feels better than, say, the Storm Island DLC did.

Other than that, I'm drooling all over that trailer.

This looks awesome. I am especially attracted by the open world aspect (I don't normally care for Forza). Afaik, there's nothing else like it in the industry. I look forward to taking this for a spin on PC if it ever makes it to Steam. Australia is going to be beautiful.

I'm so god damn excited this game for still.

HeliosT10 I hope you support multiple USB input devices on PC. I have standalone Fanatec Clubsport pedals I want to use.

Even better, make sure Loadcell brake functions as it should!

After watching some more videos it's clear that Playground are top tier developers.

This game is going to be incredible! Can't wait to see more :)

I really can't get past the cut and paste job the map is. Seriously was excited for it been in Australia until I saw that.

They could of easily did Victoria, a bit of SA and a bit of ACT. Had a varity of landscape, a huge map and still do the the Yarra Valley and Great Ocean Road. Heck they could of done other things like the Snowy moutains as well (heck even unclose the service road in the map and have a hill climb to the tallest mountain in Australia).

It doesn't matter who we are, what matters is our plan.
Yeah, in H2 the festival was scattered all over the map. There is still a chance for a "main stage" we have not seen yet.

No, I mean th main event appears to be at the coast. You can see all the balloons hovering over it in the footage while people are racing towards it.

Played 1 & 2?

They never wen´t for accuracy, but for what makes sense gameplay wise.

Catching up on a bit more of the coverage... damn damn damn I need this game. Holy shit at that map size!

Most anticipated game of the year for me.

With Driveclub dead, never been into GT and now Forza coming to PC I am going to buy a new GPU and finally return to Forza! Never played a Horizon game because I jumped ship to PS4 by then.

This looks so good and anyone who thinks the scale is off/size of Australia should be bigger has no idea how large the physical size of oz really is.. It just couldn't happen and I'm sure they have weighed the scale vs gameplay sensibilities to the absolute best of their ability. If you look at map overlays Australia is nearly the size of the whole of the USA, hard to believe I know.. http://www.ga.gov.au/scientific-topics/national-location-information/dimensions/australias-size-compared

Anyways, FH2 was a masterclass in open world driving for me and I think this is somehow, some way going to blow even that away..
