Forza Motorsport 3 - October 2009 release (ignore the OP at your peril)

Does anyone still have a link to that shot of a black Porsche Carrera GT that people were claiming was from Forza 2 before any Forza 2 media actually was shown? Later we found it was some CG rendering not even related to F2?

Because that is the sort of fidelity this reminds me of.

Yeah honestly, that mazda3 is fuck tits awesome!

Would anyone else want the ability to add the burnt vignetting like top gear for replays? I think it'd really add to the style of the game. It'd complete the car porn for me, that's for sure.

How was my first post douchey? Honestly, I'm not seeing it. I bent over backward to try to make it clear that I wasn't implying any sort of insult, and was just curious about how the photo-mode worked. I like photo-modes in general. I guess shouldn't have said the "bullshot" word.

You did come in assuming a lot of things about the photomode that were not true or complete fabrications, furthermore as both Che and the Forza team are actually proud of the massive boost in graphical fidelity, you were insinuating that this was some sort of 'super' photomode which was nothing near representative of what was in-game and therefore discrediting the hard work they have done and making him look disingenuous when the team has done their utmost to be perfectly frank about all the media they have released so far.

I give Che credit, because he shouldn't back down or be wishy-washy with refuting any such claims before the internet turns them into fact.

Pretty much, internet = serious business.

And remember don´t LOL at peoples questions.
The only stupid questions are the questions not asked.

Thanks to Ding we learned a few new things today about the photomode of Forza 3.

Don´t be too harsh on him. :D

Actually, it was mentioned by Che way earlier in the thread.

I guess that's fair. Although in food terms (oh yes, I'm going there), I thought my question was more along the lines of:

"I understand that your blah blah dish, which I just saw reviewed, contains $120/lb. Kobe beef. I was wondering if it also contains blah, blah, and blah?" (Nutmeg, heavy cream, and gummi bears, to complete the analogy. :lol )

If the dish did not in fact contain super expensive beef, then I suppose that the proprietor could decide to get bent out of shape by my comment. Was I implying that he can't work with lessor cuts? That Kobe beef is some sort of cheat? Am I even implying that the review was somehow rigged? It seems like a bit of a stretch, but okay.

Of course, there is an unspoken understanding that if the chef wants to get all up in my grill about this perceived slight, then he will likely lose me as a customer. I'm sure that's fine with him; he thinks I'm a lying asshole. Similarly, I suspect that Che doesn't care that he lost a customer today. Psssh. He still gets paid. I have no illusions that my $60 is important in the grand scheme of things. Turn10 will survive this day. :D

Sigh. Shit. I do want to reward the developers at Turn10. They seem to be tear'n it up this time. We'll see how I feel in a week or six.

No more posts on this matter from me. I've already waaaay overdid it. Let's get back to the game. Which looks awesome. October, it seems so far off.

Shut The Fuck Up!

Me me me me me me me me me me. It gets fucking annoying. You lost me as a customer Ding.

I love Turn10! You guys must have worked so damn hard.

Notice in that Mazda picture, there is no driver. Since these are straight up photomode, can you position the car anywhere in the track and remove the driver? Or is that a debug command that we wont get access to in the final game? I hope we could do this though!

driver can be turned on and off, che (or someone else) already confirmed this, doubt you can move the car tho

edit: Dings meltdown over... well, absolutely nothing at all, is awesome, must be a tag for him in all that mess somewhere :lol

make these images a little softer and smaller and you'll mistake some of them for real photographs.
500 Abarth and Citroen C4 coupe are all i'm asking for at this point before calling this the definitive driving simulator : )

So, yeah. Sorry about that. But hey, the thread is staying on the first page now. Well played, Che. Well played. :D
Wait... you're suggesting that he trolled you to keep the thread bumped?

Well played, Ding. Well played.

Well, to be honest, the headlamps are a dead giveaway, the front end isn't 100% accurate (Angles mostly, but nothing major) and the rear-side window looks off.

However, the fact that I had to go into such minute detail to pick any flaws in the design here shows how damn good the modeling is, top notch.

Oh, that Mazda picture...fuck, I honestly thought that was a real picture for a while until I looked harder, incredible.

I've recently restarted playing Forza 2 in preparation for Forza 3, if the game manages to play as well as that game and look like this I cannot see myself playing any other racer this year, frankly.

Wait, what?

They're putting this shitbox in the game?

If the game forces me to start in this, I'm getting Need for Speed Shift instead. Unless the starter money is high enough for me to get something a little less embarassing. Next thing you know, Turn 10 is going to put license tests in the game... :kittonwymaf.jpg:
