Make my face invisible if old.

UPDATE 2:
Website works now!

I just got an email from Ubisoft with the link to redeem the free game. If you've previously bought the Unity Season Pass, check your inbox. Alternatively, copy-paste https://acu.ubi.com/ to your address bar or rightclick > open in new tab.

Quick guide on how it works:
  1. Select the platform you bought the Season Pass for
  2. Log-in using your Live/PSN or Uplay (PC) account
  3. Accept some legal terms basically stating you can't sue Ubisoft anymore now (lol)
  4. Select your game
  5. The key for your game of choice will be sent to your email
  6. Redeem said key like you would any other (Ubisoft guide)
For PC gamers: If you bought the Uplay version you receive an Uplay key, if you bought the Steam version you receive a Steam key.
For Germans (and probably some other nationalities): If some of the games are not selectable in your country (like Far Cry 4), use VPN.
(Remember to browse from a country that's within the same region-lock region! Example: Germans should select another Euro country. Otherwise you might receive the wrong key!)

If you want to sell your key, you can do so in the Buy/Sell/Trade thread.

As a reminder, here is the official info on the matter from the Ubisoft Offer FAQ .

If you purchased the Assassin’s Creed Unity Season Pass or Assassin’s Creed Unity Gold Edition (which includes the Season Pass), you are eligible to choose one free game from a select list of Ubisoft titles.*

Please note that the Season Pass needs to be redeemed in order for you to be recognized as eligible by the system. If you haven’t activated your Season Pass before November 25, a delay may occur to define your eligibility in our system.

The available Ubisoft titles are:
  • The Crew
  • Far Cry 4
  • Watch Dogs
  • Assassin’s Creed Black Flag
  • Rayman Legends
  • Just Dance 2015
Please note that the list may vary according to your country’s laws and regulations.
Offer available until March 15, 2015.

Yeah, the page is down though.

Keeps saying "Sorry, we're experiencing some problems at the moment. Please try again later." when I choose my platform...

This is going to sound horrible, but I wouldn't have done this if I was Ubisoft. Its not gonna get them the goodwill they want it to. People will just be like, "Fuck yea, free game" while still bashing Ubisoft for any grievances they have.

I think we've seen this already.

I agree.

That being said, if they are issuing codes and someone wants to sell off a PS4 copy of The Crew for a decent price. I might be interested.

on gaf maybe, but i'd bet a few million of their customers will shrug off the ACU fiasco and just remember they came out with a free game.

You had to buy the season pass though right? I imagine people who bought the game or beta if you will, at $60, but no season pass will be pissed still. It's already half the price and they played through a worse version of the game to boot.

Its going to be uPlay instead of Steam, isn't it... oh well, zero dollars is pretty much exactly what I was willing to spend at their store, so it works out.

Those who didn't buy the Season Pass will receive the major piece of DLC that was originally part of the Season Pass for free, thus the reason why Season Pass owners get an entire game for free to compensate.

Yes. Ubi's offering a free game because it was retroactively cancelled.

Get Far Cry 4, it's very good :D

Also it will remind you that sometimes, when they care and actually allow themselves to, Ubisoft can make very fun and non-broken games ;_;

hoping they just give you a code to redeem that isn't tied to your account. A friend of mine qualifies for this but already has FC4, so I'm hoping he'll either give me his code, or sell for a good price.

Unless you're playing the PC version, then you get to deal with the stuttering and the downgraded graphics as well as the memory leak introduced by the recent patch.

Got this.

Sorry, but based on the information provided you are not eligible for this offer. If you think there’s been a mistake, please either try again or contact Ubisoft’s customer support Make sure you chose the same platform as the one you use to play Assassin’s Creed Unity. Please note that if you activated your season pass after the 25th of November it may take up to 10 days for your ownership to be registered to our systems.
Registered on the 26th. Hopefully it doesn't take 10 days to go through.

Interesting that the XBL and PSN links require you to sign in using those account details but the PC one just asks for your Uplay account info. I hope I can still get a Steam copy of The Crew.

Thanks! That worked a treat!

Ah, I bought the game and season pass from US store but played on my UK account. Should I log into Uplay with the US or UK account details??
The former. Every XBL/PSN user who's just played the game being eligible would be one hell of an oversight.

I highly doubt the games will be redeemable to any platform but Uplay, to be honest.
From the FAQ that was posted a few weeks ago:

*FREE GAME TO BE REDEEMED BY NO LATER THAN MARCH 15, 2015. LIMITED TO ONE OFFER PER PERSON. INTERNET CONNECTION AND ACCOUNT (UPLAY, STEAM, XBOX LIVE, AND/OR PLAYSTATION NETWORK) MAYBE REQUIRED TO USE/PLAY DOWNLOAD. OFFER MAY NOT BE SUBSTITUTED, EXCHANGED, SOLD OR REDEEMED FOR CASH OR OTHER GOODS OR SERVICES. MAY NOT BE COMBINED WITH ANY OTHER OFFER, GIFT CARD, REBATE OR DISCOUNT COUPON. PRODUCT SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY. SPECIFIC LIST OF GAMES AVAILABLE FOR FREE MAY VARY PER COUNTRY AND PLATFORM. FREE GAME LIMITED TO PLATFORM ON WHICH ASSASSIN’S CREED UNITY WAS INITIALLY PURCHASED. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED, TAXED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW. YOU MUST MEET THE MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENTS, WHICH VARY BY COUNTRY, TO REGISTER FOR AN ACCOUNT. IN ADDITION, UBISOFT’S TERMS OF USE AS POSTED ON UBI.COM APPLY.
I was pleasantly surprised, too.

Giving out a free game for the few people who bought the Season Pass is not a "get out of jail freecard" that washes their hands clean from the rest they did this year.

My bad, didn't read that bit. Guess they will add the game to the platform you bought the season pass for since it would be kinda scummy to completely hook you into the Uplay ecosystem this way.
This is kind of an odd thing to say because I actually created my uPlay account to get some random extras for AC2, ages before it became a store. I also got into Steam just because I wanted to play HL2. So... not saying it isn't a bit scummy but it seems par for the course to me.

The question is whether they kept to their word. :p
Yeah, that's more or less what I said before:

In my case I actually pre-ordered The Crew on Steam, so I'd be begrudgingly okay with a Uplay key since my intention is to just sell it. A Steam key would be worth a bit more, though, seeing as the game is region-locked in all regions where it's notably cheaper than $60.

Of course not, just as apologizing for something does not right any wrong you might have done to somebody in real life. But what I'm saying is that I don't see people accepting the apology. In real life, apologizing might well earn you forgiveness. But here, people are going to take the free game and not forgive at all. Forgiveness only happens when people care about you in the first place or have some level of respect for you as a person. I don't see people caring about Ubisoft enough to forgive them.

So Ubisoft would have been better off not giving away hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of games since it probably wont make anymore of a difference than just simply saying sorry.

We've had this whole "internet" thing for awhile now. You'd think people might realize before they put a website up that will *probably* be popular for a time that they should have the servers to handle it.

Nah, we'll just keep making the same mistakes we've been making since CompuServe.

Amen. Didn't buy the pass, just the game. I get a what will be broken dlc as an I'm sorry?

I just dont get this company. They put gems far cry, valiant hearts, child of light, splinter cell, etc and then... Wait.... It's Ubisoft Kiev, isn't it???? They are the problem!
