I actually think the YTD is more striking. Since Jan 01 it's sold 3242 units. The other 145,000 or so was sold in 2012.
The figures on the white background are for the month of June only. YTD are further down in the article.

EDIT: nevermind, fixed.

You got that wrong. The numbers you listed unter YTD are for June only (--> Juin 2013).

There is also YTD numbers for 3DS (at 238k), PS3 (198k) and the total console/handheld market YTD (726k, including 3DS and PS3, i.e. everything else is 290k combined).

Edit: Oh, there is also YTDs for all the other consoles/handhelds in the article ^^

You're wrong OP. These numbers are for JUNE 2013. They're not YTD.

These are the YTD and LTD numbers.

WiiU sold roughly 3'000 units in a month ?
That's got to hurt if confirmed.

Smoky, what's your source ?

Gameblog is a serious, major French gaming website.

I have absolutely no reason to suspect that these numbers aren't legit.

Yep. They're the third biggest game news website in France, they would never publish these numbers if it wasn't official.

Gameblog is hardly more serious than Kotaku.

I respectfully disagree. I can see why people don't like them and the blogs can be terrible, but the main site is alright.

Poor Vita and Wii U.

Such a shame to see two excellent platforms floundering. If I weren't such an optimist, I'd worry for their futures, but I know, deep down, their will to live is strong and their resurrection is close at hand.

Also that article mentions that Nintendo France's CEO recently claimed that the Wii sold more than the 360 in 2013 thanks to the Wii Mini. Well apparently that's quite wrong.

Was been discussed in the PAL charts thread, they're interesting figures. The 3DS is almost exactly dead even in the first half year over year which is ho-hum but at least it had positive momentum in June, everything else has fallen and the Wii U just seems tragic. Its sales in June were so pitiful.

3.2k in France? <20k/month in the whole of Europe confirmed. Tragic.

Pie and Beans

Look for me on the local news, I'll be the guy arrested for trying to burn down a Nintendo exec's house.
I said in the PAL charts thread, but ballparking WiiU's monthly European sales at 15k-20k at best, we really are looking at a console currently scratching around the 100k mark for monthly global sales.

Rough performance:

Wii U

Ltd = 149,434
Ytd = 38,927
Ltd Monthly average (LTD/7) = 21,347
Ytd Monthly average (LTD-Nov&Dec/6) = 6,487

PSVita

Ltd = 233,309
Ytd = 34,592
Montly average (LTD/=16) = 14,581

Oh dear.

Maybe it's a case of them getting the MS numbers wrong? I don't believe Nintendo France would outright lie about outselling the 360 if they had accurate/up to date info to hand.

Proud to see that most of French gamers are going for PS3 or/and 3DS this year. Best combo for now.

Wii U is not that bad but knowing the Nintendo love we usually have in France it's clearly disappointing.
Anyhow I still think that Nintendo's audience is changing, not only because the Wii sales won't happen anytime soon but also because the core Nintendo audience is now clearly in two very different audiences : less than 15 and more than 25 (imo but I would love to have socio-demographics numbers about Nintendo gamers).

PS4 is going to crush so badly the Xbox One in France... maybe Wii U / PS4 will even lead the market here? (not counting portable systems since 3DS is already a success here and sales will continue to be good or be even better).

1 - 3DS - 237.950 - 1.928.838
2 - PS3 - 198.158 - 4.561.277

Coming for PS3 install base. Pokemon will give it a big boost.

What's the DS install base?

As said in the other thread, it's flat due to first three months sales, when 3DS sold less than PS3 in France (like in the whole Europe, where it sold even less than 360). This confirms how much things changed from April to June, the momentum wasn't just in June.

Wasn't the Wii the only Nintendo console to ever really gain traction in Europe?

Maybe he was talking about shipments?

Well I don't know, I had a look at the original interview and he's referencing GfK as the source. That article points out that it doesn't match Nintendo's FY report.

Also from that interview, it seems ACNL sold 0ver 60k after 10 days.
So TLoU is well above that number in France (since it consistently charted above AC).

edit: Not sure what's up with that guy. He also mentions that the PS2 sold below 6M LTD in France. I highly doubt that.
Also, their forcast for LTD WiiU sales by April 2014 is 450 to 630k. Good luck with that. Although to be fair that's based on the 9M WW forecast from Nintendo's previous financial report.

Best case scenario for Wii U in Europe must probably be around 600.000 units sold.

150.000 in France, let's say it sold the same amount in UK and Germany, that's 450.000 in total. We add another 150.000 units from other minor markets (Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Nordic countries etc.) and as I said, absolutely best case scenario for Wii U about 600.000 units.

My theory is somehow by Wii he meant the "Wii family" which would include both Wii and the Wii U. That would add up to just above the 360.

Well the original interview had 3 clear sections, 3DS, WiiU, Wii.
It's clearly stated he's talking about the Wii there, so I doubt that.

The interviewer even asks him to confirm that, and the guy is pretty adamant about it.

That's true, but I took into account that Wii U in Italy or Spain is doing comparatively worse than other European countries, specially shocking its absolutely atrocious market share in Italy.

It's not even that much of an underestimation. UK + FRA + GER is roughly 80% of the EU market.

Even if we doubled his "rest of Europe" estimate and said that Europe is sitting at 750k:

US + Canada = ~1.5M (assuming Canadian sales are equal to ~1/10th US sales)
Japan = 1M
EU = 750k

That's 3.25M systems between the three major territories in 8 months. Even if you throw in Australia, Latin America, and the other smaller markets, we're looking at less than 4M Wii Us in living rooms worldwide. That's a horrible start.

Wii U is basically dead in Europe.

The fall from Wii to Wii U has got to be the biggest sales decline in console transition history.

Don't think that the console can be saved in Europe anymore

Yet they still forecasted 9 mil for this financial year. The console is on life support at best.

Would be a very interesting case study. How a brand can have one of the most popular products on the planet and then the Wii U.

Ha ha ha, I was even over-estimating it. Me. Over-estimating the WiiU.

31st is going to be eye gougy bad. Iwata having to say with a straight face "we've not... sold through launch shipment..."
