FRIDAY NIGHT [OT2] - Official NeoGAF Weekend Kickoff REDUX

Thumbnail looks like drunk Stephen Fry.
Or Stephen Fry on poppers orgasming at the end of a blow job.

No idea if any of you like old paintings (I only started appreciation them properly a few years back..)

But this bloke does some pretty good break downs on old pieces, been watching a few

..I'm stuck indoors bored now, was going to go up London but woke up with a massive ear infection.

I'm so fucked off :messenger_unamused:

My favorite painting is Starry Night which I saw in Paris once. Instantly smitten.

I also Mona Lisa there which was a boring piece of shit.

I love art, studied it at college when I left high school and I'm getting a resurgence of inspiration to paint and draw again for the first time in over twenty years. I'm a huge Chuck Close and David Hockney fan.

Probably for the best missing London today, as I suspect a blood bath is on the menu.

Feel sorry for the bloke, been through a long term partner cheating on me in the past, but the time frame is very suspicious 😅

I'm joking BTW if the other dude is looking at this, I just like dark/sarcastic comedy
Yeah, poor guy. Thing is, even if he leaves her, the next one will just be the same type.
He seems a little daft to me.

Yeah starry night is a nice piece indeed!

It was quite a funny thing that happend, way back when, my wife wanted us to go up the National gallery in London when Vans pieces were having a showing as she loved art and hes her favourite, I always thought it was boring.. so we went, took our six year old.

They got bored after an hour and I was hooked looking at all the others :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Some of those paintings though, I couldn't wrap my head around how well theyre done :messenger_neutral:

We then went to the tate modern and my soul just died on the spot. Utter tripe.

And aye, the Mona Lisa is boring af! :messenger_tears_of_joy:

The garden of earthly delights always breaks my brain.

Wow, that's incredibly cool. Looks a bit like Hieronymus Bosch.

Tate did nothing for me either. You see one Jackson Pollock painting and you've seen them all.

You should! My missus is a great painter and she's just got back into it, although it's very sporadic..

Ive known quite a few people who have some truly great artistic ability and not one of them draws or paints anymore. Being an utter mong who cant paint at all I find it a bit depressing to waste such talent!

So if you can, you should!

Even my father, who passed a few years back was an excellent artist. I wish i'd asked him to paint more.

Thinking about it now, every bugger can paint or draw apart from me. Maybe I am just a spaz

I've never heard of these two, I'll have a look :messenger_beermugs:

Everyone's been saying this to me today, I bet it just ends up being a load of grannies in pink doing the Hokey Cokey though :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Jaysus Chroist it's humid as fuck out. I just walked over to my local bakery and back and I am covered in sweat. Guess I'll be driving for the rest of my errands today.

Haha, German is such ridiculous language. That's why it was perfect for the Nazis and music like this.

Picked up 3 more for the collection. They had a second Masayoshi Fujita record that I might go back and buy later. I've been really digging jazz and ambient lately.

For now coffee, records, and reading. This afternoon will be bliss.

Ugh, I really wanted to go to my favourite pub tonight and meet at friend, but my cold is killing me.

So I'm watching a movie instead and will probably go to bed soon.

Watching this (again):

Hope every one else is having a good day or night or whatever 😘

Got tricked into doing housework today, but at least I get to use my power washer!
