Please share with us this information, outside the old KZ:SF slides and insider reports, that you seem to have obtained that makes this anything but a rumor. The dRAMa in this thread is amazing. It just keeps on giving.

i dont have any inside info but i just want to find out why the title was changed.
why wouldn't they leave the title like it was, a rumor is a rumor and we had much worse rumors before and the title never changed until we got some real information.
i dont care if the rumor is true or not, i just want know why they changed the title. old rumor looked bad for sony, new one? not so much even if the original article from EG was never changed.

This is not a comparison between how fast GPUs are in a console to how fast PC GPUs are, it is a comparison between how fast the closest PC equivalents of the GPUs in the consoles are as a guide to how big the differences will be between the consoles (consoles being pound for pound a bit faster than PCs has nothing to do with it).

Nothing GPU wise, CPU is likely slow enough not to have a noticeable problem.
To be honest, I really don't think much.
One because they are APUs with a AMD memory controller that helps with latency.
Two. We have 2 extra buses that Sony incorporated (Onion + Garlic) that help with latency.
Three. Sony expects devs to start using the GPGPU more for computational tasks instead of the CPU. More parallelism. GPUs are latency tolerant.

Bear/Salmon was an old console war joke that started in 2008 when Sony was clearly in 3rd place. In most cases, salmon = Sony/Sony fans, bear = MS/Nintendo/MS fans/Nintendo fans.
In this particular instance, the joke is about MS and Sony fans rushing to crucify Sony before we have any concrete details.

It was found to be a rumor. Even in the short time I've followed Gaf (about a year without signing up), I've seen threads completely locked once they were discovered to be only based on rumor. There's literally zero substantial evidence to support the headline, so why wouldn't it be changed. I see zero bias from the mod team in terms of thread management...
That sounds good, do you thing multi plats will run better on PS4? I only ask this because I started this gen off with a PS3 and most multi plats had problems, worst was skyrim

God yes. For the first time since the Xbox Brand's inception, Sony has the strongest system out there.
And for the first time since the Xbox's inception, they have the easiest architecture to exploit.
You know what else is funny...about a week ago there was a thread with developers saying they don't know what to do with all this RAM available to them. Now we have a thread where we all went off the deep end because of how little ram is available.

stop making sense, that kind of talk along with pointing out the performanve boost of GDDR5 over DDR3 just isn't looked at...

It seems like they have new info, but we don't know if the dev kits are older.
I don't think it should surprise people that Sony will be allocating a decent chunk of ram for the OS upfront and decrease it over time...it's really not a big deal people are making it out to be.

Maybe exploit was the wrong word to use. What I'm saying is that the PS4 will be way easier to extract its potential power than PS2 and PS3 which were the two systems in existence since the inception of the Xbox brand. Tapping the playstation's full power has never been easier because their architecture has never been more developer friendly.

Both machines are still crazy capable of showing great looking games but also, hopefully fun games as well..
If we could have great games on 360/ps3, why wouldn't we have it with upcoming gen?

Both depending on how you look at it. IF the Xbone truly is the devkit MS says it is, then it will inevitably allow you to sign and run code on it opening up a world of possibilities for hackers.

That would mean that PS4 games would indeed be able to use 5.5GB right from the start, but if devs want to integrate a special social feature or app, like that asynchronous multiplayer stuff in Watch Dogs for example, they can use up to 1GB of the aforementioned 5.5GB for it.
And if Shinobi is right about the 1.5GB OS + 1GB unused reserve then the PS4 still has a huge untapped potential for both OS features and games.
