Summary of all posted videos (pls update if you add a video):

Have you just beaten a boss, seen impressive graphics or simply want to share your first impressions of a new game? This is the place to share and discuss your gameplay videos and live streams.

A few rules:

  1. Post only your own gameplay or at least from people you know (e.g. recorded with a capture card, with the PS4 share button or your own stream) - this isn´t the place to share random gameplay videos/streams found elsewhere.
  2. Every platform is welcome.
  3. For sharing the videos, I would suggest using something common like Youtube or Twitch/UStream. If those don´t fulfill your quality needs, feel free to use something different.
  4. Use a similar layout to the examples below. Give a short summary about what is shown in the video or what do you want to show in your stream and choose a descriptive title. If the video is a bit longer, it helps if you add some timestamps in your description (see example 1). If you like, add a screen of the game after the URL (preferably out of the video).
  5. To have an overview of all posted videos, pls add yours to this list: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15zBlde8uTHXK97GhE1jO_n6ATAoKjRxEtCivDFVGYPQ/
  6. Feel free to discuss about gameplay you have seen here. Not every post has to contain a new video or stream.
Example 1 (video)
Game: Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor
Video Title: Shadow of Mordor - Recruitment Mission and Trophy "No Power in Numbers"
Platform: PS4
Length: 5:45

Content: A recruitment mission that leads to the trophy "No power in Numbers". At the beginning, an orc captain is branded (0:44) and ordered to become the bodyguard of a warchief. During the recruitment mission (starting 2:27), disbelievers have to be eliminated. After enough orcs have been recruited, the captain becomes the bodyguard of the warchief (after the fight starting 4:23).

At the end, all recruited orcs and the captain are eliminated (5:13).

Some tips and tricks for sharing content with the PS4:
  • Trimming videos significantly reduce the file size and build a good basis for directly uploading or editing them (e.g. with ShareFactory)
  • save a video after every scene you like (Share +
    b_square.png
) --> when trimming the video you can jump right to the end and have the scene you want
  • trim your saved videos directly after your play session (as you have the scenes still in mind)
A small tutorial how to trim videos on your PS4 without using ShareFactory (many people don´t seem to know that feature):

  1. Select Capture Gallery
    icon_capture_gallery.png
  2. Select the game and video clip you want to trim
    16rjus.jpg
  3. Press Options and select Trim
    2unj5g.png
  4. Start the trim process (choose the scene you want to save)
    3fskqa.jpg
  5. Press OK (overwrite or create a new video). If you want to create a second trimmed video out of the same source file, choose the latter option
  6. Now you can upload a trimmed clip or use the clips as a basis for editing (e.g. with ShareFactory)

Title: GTA V
Platform: PS4
Length: 2:25

Content: Some funny failures during my SP playthrough

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-amWlvHscQ

Especially Trevor shouting "Good lord above" just before the car explodes ^^ Or Franklin falling off the crane... I really enjoyed the SP of GTA V, great dialogue and synchronization and an enormous attention to detail that makes the world feel alive.

Nice idea.
Something I did few years ago:

Title: Mike the Magic Dragon (1987 puzzle platformer by Kingsoft)
Platform: Amiga (WinUAE emulator)
Length: 2 minutes, 19 seconds
Content: Introduction to the game. Main menu with BGM from Miami Vice, name entry and a short exploration of world 1-1. Unfortunately due to copy protection you need a real Amiga to advance to the next world, even if you use the cracked version, which is legally available

Title: inFamous: Second Son
Platform: PS4
Length: 2:45

Content: Some inFamous scenes of my SP playthrough with background music (edited with ShareFactory). Different powers can be seen (video, concrete, smoke).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-D9iqWVriRw

The main thing I liked about inFamous is travelling through the city with your powers. The fighting is also fun. On the contrary, the city is quite empty and bland. I would love to have an inFamous in a more atmospheric and lively city (like Los Santos).

Title: Final Fantasy TYPE-0 HD - Battle on the Big Bridge

Length: 8:33

Content: Me facing
Gilgamesh
in an optional but epic battle. Kinda spoilery but not about the story! That was very hard!

https://youtu.be/9lWNbHsvHdg

Title: Full Manual PES 2015 with China
Platform: PS4
Length: 13:46

Content: Some Asian Cup game with full manual controls. That was good, the game is pretty solid when played with full manual settings.

Is there a thread to see Gaffers post twitch/stream links when they're online?

I really enjoy watching people play games. :3

I don´t see a reason why we shouldn´t do that here, so that the thread is about gameplay in general (regardless if live or recorded). I will update the OP

@Alej: nice game with full manual controls... I tried it a few times, but I think you have to get used to it. Wasn´t able to play one proper pass

Keep training and just think this is a whole new game. After some time you'll be able to have a nice passing flow and proper shooting, when this happens you'll discover what i would call football gaming promised land.

Will try that, thx.

I got access to the Rocket League beta - fun like hell, it´s a typical example for "just one more game". I will post a vid in the next few days.

@Jaroof: good fight; also a nice old fashioned workaround for capturing gameplay ;)

And a bit more Rocket League (best of). I will definitely pick that up on release, great fun.

Title: Rocket League (Beta)
Platform: PS4
Length: 2:06

Content: A few best of moments of Rocket League (cut with ShareFactory). Don´t expect too much, I played only 4 games via RemotePlay on my vita, and that is not so easy with the lag and controls ;)

Not sharing a video, but I need a little help. I have a video that stops at 99% when being rendered in Share Factory. I have left it running overnight. It does not lockup the machine, but it never finishes rendering. Any thoughts?

Sorry, can´t help you there. I have used ShareFactory quite often, but never experienced anything similar. Have you tried to change some minor things within your project, save it again and try to render it after restarting ShareFactory?

Not really serious gameplay, but a short test of Remote Play via Internet (with Dragon Age Inquisition). You can see the lag quite a bit (look at my thumb and the motion of the character), but it´s absolutely playable (very similar to SharePlay):

Title: Valiant Hearts
Platform: PS4
Length: 7:13 (including some credits)

Content:
Shows some gameplay, the end of a bossfight and the following cutscene (1:03), and the ending of the game (2:46). Overall I really enjoyed the game and was also surprised about the length of it. Definitely worth playing if you enjoy the art style, simplistic game play and some historic background with a lovable (but sometimes a bit "cheesy"/simple) story.

Video contains spoilers!

I actually had this idea once having a central spot for all consoles cuz the sharefactory thread was dead good job executing on it! I will contribute something soon.

What do we do if it's a montage and not one singular game?

Title: Through The Woods
Platform: PC (Beta / Kickstarter)
Length: 17:29

Content:Being penned as a third-person psychological horror, Through The Woods is a re-telling of a mother's struggle to find her son who has disappeared in a forest that is seemingly alive. I got a chance to play the teaser of this game, which is still very much a work in progress and I got to say that I'm very impressed with what I've played so far, despite the teaser being, well a teaser.

Footage was streamed via Twitch and uploaded to Youtube.

Doesn´t matter at all, then just state the games you have included in the montage under "title" (and in the description of the video).

@Shadowhaxor: looks very intense, looking forward to it! Probably I´ll be too scared to play it (but I have beaten P.T., so I should be able to do it - just don´t know if I want to ;)

If you've played P.T, then this will be right up your alley. Sadly it doesn't look like the game is going to reach it's funding goal which is a same.

I really enjoy watching people play games. :3

I second this motion!

First I thought your video would be about "The Forest". I think that title goes in a pretty similar direction. Perhaps a reason why it lacks funding.

I second this motion!
I have already included that in the OP and thread title.

Today I´ll complete "The Swapper" and post some puzzles and story sequences. Really enjoying the atmosphere.

Content: The video shows some story scenes (intro, ending (3:01) --> Spoiler warning), a spacewalk and some other atmospheric scenes (walk through the garden etc.). Created with ShareFactory. I really enjoyed the game, great art design, atmosphere and a minimalistic but intense story!

Title: Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes
Platform: PS4
Length: 15min

Content: Just me playing around in MGS V. I screwed up towards the end. Hope LPs like this are ok to post on gaf. Any criticism would be welcomed. You hear me introducing myself from 0:00 to 1:36 and from then on, bits of me in between when characters stop talking. 9:31 to hear what I think bout Kiether as Snake and hear a crappy Raiden voice. 10:39 is when I can actually start playing. 14:06 is how I failed badly.

Sure, LP´s are welcome, as far it´s your own gameplay. I am at work right now, so can´t look into it.

For the next time: perhaps you can add some timestamps in your description, especially if it´s a longer video (e.g. 5:32 causing alert and died because of a stupid move, 8:34 rescue of the hostage etc...)

To be honest I am a bit surprised, that not more GAFfers want to share their gameplay. Probably it´s the hassle of capturing, editing and uploading it?

After the PS4 share feature was announced I wasn´t really convinced and wouldn´t have thought, that I am gonna use it. Surprisingly it became one of my favourite current gen features - both the video capturing and screenshot function is great, as it allows you to recap special moments of games you´ve played (and share them).

Some tips and tricks for sharing (perspective: PS4):
  • save a video after every scene you like (Share +
    b_square.png
) --> when trimming the video you can jump right to the end and have the scene you want
  • trim your saved videos directly after your play session (as you have the scenes still in mind).
  • Trimming videos significantly reduce the file size and build a good basis for directly uploading or editing them (e.g. with ShareFactory).

Title: Transistor
Platform: PS4
Length: 5:53

Content: The video mainly shows a mix of story-, fighting-, and cutscenes. From 2:35 to the end the final game scenes are shown, so be aware of spoilers. I really loved the art-design, though it took a while to get into the game.

Looking forward playing Bastion!

Gameplay of my Lords of the Fallen playthrough (PS4, 5:35min). Unfortunately I experienced a bug that prevented me from playing it to the end. But graphic- and gameplaywise I think it's pretty good. I was happy to hear, that Deck13 works on a new project.
