Two points. Halo 3 was ahead of CoD4 by four points.

Thanks, Ani. Nice job with the genres, too. My only advice for next time is to split "Sports" into separate "real sports" and "stuff like SKATE and Mario Strikers" categories.

Might be nice to have a "VC/XBLA/PSN" category next year, too.

Great awards, agree with almost all of the choices. Nice to see Crackdown get some props.

It seems like most other sites are voting on games released in the last two months and forgetting about earlier releases like Crackdown and God of War 2.

Though I'm disappointed that Rock Band did not make it into the top 10, I am very pleased at Mass Effect's (my GOTY) spot. Beating everything but Bioshock, SMG, and Orange Box (the overwhelming favorites, IMO) is quite a feat as is RPG of the year.

I guess all I'm saying is that after the initial reaction, I thought it would be forgotten this year, but I'm glad to see it is not.

Good for Crackdown as well.

Awesome work Ani! Great to see Crackdown and Uncharted in the top 10 (finally)... and thank god COD4 isn't #1 and sits below Halo 3. All of that, and SMG taking #1, really shows that gameplay is king. As others have said, finally a GOTY/Top Ten I can really get behind. Thanks GAF, for truly having taste. Too bad Rock Band is so damn expensive though. I'm sure if more gamers had a chance with it, it would've been in the top 10.

They aren't exclusive, so I put them in with the multiplatform thing list thing.

Last year, TP was multiplatform because it was on the GC and Wii (hold your jokes, I know, I know), so instead Wii Sports won for the Wii-specific awards, and I Baten Kaitos Origins won for Gamecube.

Anyway, last year for the GBA. Farewell, old friend. Farewell.
