Warning: I was a bit tipsy when I wrote this, but here's where I remember the news from.
Travis Savoury, aka Baka, is a member of Drake’s entourage. The 37-year old Toronto man has worked security for Drizzy, contributed back up vocals to the album Nothing Was The Same and even got a shout out on the track ‘Know Yourself’.

He was also involved in some nastiness last year, getting himself arrested on charges of forcing a 22-year old woman into prostitution and then taking her money.

Baka had his day in court this week, and plead guilty to assaulting the woman and an unrelated weapons charge. He was sentenced to six months in jail, but will remain free because he already spent 10 months in custody following his June 2014 arrest.

Baka was fortunate that the woman in question — who worked as an escort — refused to testify against him. Without her cooperation, the prosecution had to drop the charges of procuring prostitution and human trafficking that Baka was initially hit with.

Outside of the previously released songs (Think About Me, Don't Choose, Mood) that all are amazing, this dvsn project is kinda mediocre.

Black sheep, White Dove by IDK is so beautiful man been replaying it all day. His whole album is dope too, but i think the 2nd half is stronger than the first.

and that Lando Chill album is really good des thanks for mentioning it. ive never heard of lando before but he reminds me of vince flow wise.

After listening to Wu-Tang and now Brother Ali's new albums. It's going to be hard making a top 10 and that's even with omitting instrumentals and putting them in their own category.

The Eminem freestyle is undeniably bad and corny. Not only in the way it's delivered, but the content. Vince is 100% right, and if you delve deeper you can make the argument that nearly Eminem's entire career is an example of the double standards white people place on black art. It's the same phenomena that makes Adele is superstar and Sharon Jones an afterthought. White people view black talent as an inherent trait that isn't earned or worked for. Whereas a white person excelling at a "black thing" is somehow a genius and automatically better. Black church girl sings well? Of course, who cares. White Brit sings well? Hold on stop the presses.

Eminem raps about drugs, violence, horrorcore humor, etc with some personal stuff sprinkled in here or there. Yet his fans and supporters will tell you he is "different" from (black) rappers because he doesn't rap about drugs or violence. Rock stations play his music. Many white parents allow their children to listen to him, but not other rappers. If that's not about race I don't what is.

I guarantee you his upcoming will largely focus on childish humor, violence (often against women), and drugs. It won't reach the mature content or growth seen on Jay-Z's recent album, or Nas' last album.

Just found out Bootsy Collins has a new album coming out in a couple weeks. After listening to two of the singles I'm fucking ready. Listened to the Kali Uchis one a week ago, but didn't realize it was going to be for a new album.

lmao @ Vince on twitter though. I don't necessarily agree with the way he's going about this- white people will ultimately have to speak out and be the ones to clean up the trash in this country, so Em's cypher was notable no matter what you thought of it- but the dude is hilarious and has been in a 12+ hour hot take Twitter shootout.

Is Adele really singing church music? I’ve never really thought of it that way. If you said Sam Smith I would agree with ya.

But like the double standard has been talked about since he started wrapping, why we still talking about it? I mean Post Malone is arguably the biggest new rapper out at the moment, yet is that because he is white? Maybe? Who knows!

If Kanye wrote all of his own lyrics I would comfortably consider him a better lyricist than Eminem.

It hurts me a bit knowing that Eminem is widely considered a better lyricist than plenty of the much more skilled greats.
