I was digging into youtube, spiralling downwards into the descent of 'related videos' when I came across this special video
Big ups to GAF

It was kind of weird to randomly come across it. I know some references to the gaming side pop up every now and then on gaming news sites, but that's the only place I encounter gaf outside of gaf.

So what experiences have you had? I've always wanted to meet a gaffer in the wild. I don't know what I would say to him. Would I even tell him my username? Difficult questions.

I often see that a lot of Gaffers are working in the film industry when I see the credits of movies

Erm, only time I can recall was while visiting one of the University buildings near my office to pick up some lunch from the 'canteen'. There was a guy sitting at one of the benches browsing Gaf on his Sony Vaio.

I just nodded in acknowledgment as I walked past when leaving... Sure he thought I was just trying to hit on him though.

It's not really a big deal. Other people use the internet too.

I've seen quite a few people at my school on GAF but they aren't really people i'd hang out with.

Weaboos.

Saw a student in my exchange program browsing GAF in Japan once. Another friend in that program has an account but never posts.

The strangest one was one of the toilet booths at my university in France. Someone drew a huge NeoGAF logo on one of the walls with the motto "Believe" underneath I think. Then again I'm studying Japanese, gamers are a common sight in that kind of curriculum.

I never see anyone browsing at the University of Houston, but it is a huge source of laughter at my best friends company. I brought it up in convo one day and he knew about it. I was blown away.

I treat gaf as this bizzaro ass news filter that gets rid of the creepy shit of 4 chan and the clutter of reddit, and puts it in a nice forum format for me to read and comment on.

never met another GAFfer. The one person who introduced me to the site doesn't even post here, he just checked it occasionally for game news when he didn't check Joystiq, Giant Bomb, or RPS. When I told him I had an account here and posted occasionally, he gave me an odd look and an awkward silence. :D

Neogaf marking its turf ?

I had the same thought, but that would require pissing on the wall to get a color close to the orange on the logo. That guy just drew the outline with a black marker.

As I have said in other threads, GAF has become my one stop shop for most things on the internet. Most of the community is in tune with my interests, so it's nice to be able discuss my hobbies with other people.

I like it far more than reddit anyways...

When I go to class and I see all the simpletons open up their reddit, I proudly display NeoGAF and I immediately swell with pride and superiority.

I was recommended by a coworker of mine to sign up here so that's why I am.

I haven't been on here for that long but I have actually met up with someone on another forum in person once. It was actually pretty cool.
