I think you should differentiate games that have online mulitplayer opposed to simply a online leaderboard (Geometry Wars has no online multiplayer)

You mean "past."

Nice list though. Only a few things on there that I'll actually buy.

Yes, this would be nice.
EDIT: Late.

It's a bit deciving at first glance.
Can you maybe keep two separate lists of Online titles?
Online Gameplay vs Online Features?

I know you have the brackets, but at first I got all excited when I saw that many games then I read them and realized only like 3-4 have actual online competitive/co-op play :lol

I was searching around and remembered Elebits has online sharing too. Would it be reasonable to add this to release list since I added Dewy?

Nice list. I'm trying only to include games with final release dates on my list. Hopefully we can influence eachother to make the list as up-to-date as possible.

Nintendo WFC Activity (weekly thread). What's your source for release dates? There's a couple of games I'm not sure has been confirmed for release that day, or even confirmed online for Wii yet (i.e. Guitar Hero III, are we totally sure about that one). Good job :)

I don't remember seeing NBA Live for Wii confirmed online either, IIRC.

I would say yes. But then you also need to consider Big Brain Academy, where you can send your results to your friends - which is kinda like a leaderboard thing as well. It's getting messy.

Great. I use both EBgames and IGN.
Im pretty sure Guitar Hero 3 for Wii has online. I read it somewhere. Try IGN.
And NBA definitely has online. EA has 3 sports games coming out with online: Madden, Fifa, and NBA. Tiger Woods got the shaft :(

This is a big a lock as you can find. I'd say 1000% chance it will have online.

Doesn't Zak & Wiki use WFC for something too? Maybe leaderboards or hints or something?

I think they hinted at some online function but they weren't clear about it.

Edit: What about Soul Calibur Legends? It's listed as November 2007 at IGN and they've hinted online for downloadable content

mario strikers charged is like the only title in the list which has an online function that interests me..

what does elebits use online for?

You still need to add Ghost Squad and NiGHTS. Also Octopuzzle is legit too, turns out it's Compile Heart's Naomi port and has WFC play in Japan (so here too I'd guess).

Thanks for the topic. I still think Nintendo needs a better foundation for online with their Wi-Fi Connection, but ~15-20 games in its first year isn't too horrible for them.

I'm just glad they aren't trying to shoe-horn online into games that don't need it, like Super Mario Galaxy or Metroid Prime 3. But they need to put a lot of work into online for games like Mario Strikers Charged, Mario and Sonic Olympics, SSBB, etc. because those would be huge there.

Nitrobike is a 2008 title and they're exploring online with mysims right now so it hasn't been confirmed so it should be a possible.

Wii online seems to be coming along great but one uncertainty that bothers me is lack of headset talk. Why has no one asked about the use of headset in online-enabled Wii games in any interviews? The DS uses a headset, so the Wii should be getting one eventually, but all the games that come out before the headset will be almost unplayable afterwards (for me).

Hopefully it's announced soon, the perfect game to showcase it with would be Battalion Wars. That game could really use headset for team-play. If it doesn't... well, the online portion of that game is half-failed in my eyes.

IF that's the case, I can cope, but SSBB and Mario Kart Wii BETTER allow headsets, or else.
I know some may argue that voice communication will just add more annoyance and aggravation to the game, but you'd be able to mute it anyway.

The most important thing to me is to be able to chat with friends and family as if we were playing together, in the same room.

Looks like online support is becoming a standard like on 360 and PS3, that's good. Now Nintendo how about a damn headset!

Oh yeah and local multiplayer combined with online (Like in Mario Strikers) should be made a standard! It's the best type of multiplayer period!

Yes, NiGHTS and Ghost Squad need to be added, and I'm not sure, but I have the suspicion that Mario & Sonic is Leaderboards only. I could be wrong however (hopefully).
