Oh, bitch bitch bitch.
I genuinely don't understand some of the responses in here. It was clear from the other thread that the game was Evolve as another poster vouched for the reveal. It's a new IP from a competent studio that is next-gen only. It's also a gameplay-focused title that seemingly does away with a traditional SP. Online-only being a no-buy for some people is just embarrassing on a forum like this. Why wouldn't you want a game to embrace what it does best?

They only talk about the 'main hunt mode'.

- 4 classes. Medic, Assault, Support, Trapper.
- Each class has multiple characters to choose from.
- Multiple monsters to choose from as well, each with their own unique abilities, but they only talk about Goliath.
- 3rd person when playing as the monster.
- Goliath's abilities: Breathing Fire, Leap Attack, Charge Attack, Rock Throw. Also some stealth abilities if you want to stalk the hunters. You start out with two abilities of your choosing, and as you evolve you unlock more.
- Levels feature 'wildlife simulation', including carnivorous plants. Goliath evolves by hunting the wildlife. Hunters get special temporary bonuses for killing 'elite wildlife', faster health regen, extra damage, etc.

I'm still not flipping out but this actually sounds interesting. Will keep an eye out.

It looks kind of nice but it's hardly something I'd flip out for.

Here's hoping the graphic looks a lot better than L4D. Especially when it comes to polygon counts and textures.

Love the look of the game, and being a huge L4D fan means I'll grab this on day 1.

We need the dot points from the last few pages added to the OP so that people who are coming in will realise what it's actually about.

Also all the people just coming in here and whinging about it being a MP focused FPS need to calm the hell down.

Sounds like a Nintendo Land game in concept. Hope to see some Predator mods pop up in the future. Interesting.

Reminds me of The Most Dangerous Game.

Really like how each character is very different. Sounds, very, very good. Plus it seems it was very well planned.

I loved the gameplay in Left 4 Dead. Those gameplay details sound exciting, can't wait to hear more.

My friends and I are burned out on Left 4 Dead after hundreds of hours and want something to take its place. Throw in some matchmaking and discourage rage quitting too, please.

Love asymmetric MP, stuff like Spies vs. Mercs, Left 4 Dead, and AvP.

This looks incredibly interesting so far, looking forward to seeing some gameplay.

Sounds like Predator: The Game so I'm majorly interested....but I don't often jump on multiplayer so it would be even more amazing if there is a decent single player component!

Seems like there isn't going to be single player at all :(

It'll have as much single player as Left 4 Dead since any spot can be filled by AI.
 
the devs make fun gameplay and the concept is cool but having 4 vs 1 as the only mode sounds like a boring boss battle that you repeat over and over. At least have other modes like 4 humans vs 4 aliens with defferent classes. Also have a only humans mode multiplayer if possible. Mix it up or it will get old real fast. Looks like there's a lot of potential though.

Either or. If your game is a multiplayer title -- what else can you do but focus on balance and combat? If there is little to no dialogue or extensive motion-captured acting or huge scripted set-pieces, it forces you to focus on content. So you either get lots of MP content (more maps, more guns) and/or it also lets you run a beta, balance your game quickly and efficiently, maybe it lets you prototype a bit more from the get go as you don't have SP portion to create. How hard do you think it would be to look through some post histories and find someone complaining about story-heavy games or lack of game design or the dumbing down of everything to a corridor shooter and to then see them complain about something being online-only.

There will be other modes.
In the summary, it says that only the "hunt mode" was shown.

Footprints are highlighted if you run instead of going into "stealth mode". The article says that harp like birds starts circling overhead if you kill too much animals, revealing your location. And the leap scares creatures like raybats (glowing bats I suppose).

For screens, the one in OT is in game. It reminds me of Crysis 3, specially the dense jungle ones. There's also no mention of ADS and neither it is shown on screens. GI said they were only shown one map, but some screens seems to be on a dead forest, remembers me of Halo Reach first level. Also on some screens it's raining and on others it isn't.

They also say the hunters are pretty agile, and can keep with the monster speed. Dunno if it was already said that the medic is female.

Thanks for the details, from the screen I though the forest would be more dense, that Reach first level didn't really have a forest, or rather was a pretty large area, did you mean the Halo 3 starting area?

They haven't even shown what it plays like. I think I have faith in this game having fun mechanics. They sure have proven they know how to do it.
