Games for 2 players on PS3 (without splitscreen)

subversus

I've done nothing with my life except eat and fap
I'm going to buy a second controller, so what games on PS3 from past 2 years are good for non-splitscreen multiplayer? Any genre.

Scott Pilgrim vs the World
Lego: Star Wars / Batman / Indy / Pirates
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 & 2
Heavy Weapon (probably my Favorite, played it with loads of people who don't play games much and had good fun)

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World
Castle Crashers
Trine

Everyone has hit all the majors I can think of, but I'd recommend giving Sacred 2 a shot if you're into hack n' loots. Its a technical mess but if you can live with that it gives PC level hack n' loot character development depth and a massive open world. I just wish the developer was still alive and would've been able to further tune up their game and release the expansion on console.

Comet Crash (<- best TD game ever)
I also recommend CC and I believe it's free right now for PS+ members.

Little Big Planet
Pixeljunk Monsters
These are the two best answers. Monsters especially was so good a friend of mine who doesn't even really like games demanded I not play the game without him because we had so much fun figuring the level strategies out together.

The Lego <x> games are pretty good and variously either use the "psychic rubber band" model or a pretty cool "dynamic splitscreen" model where as the person walks away and depending on the angle they're at, the screen carves itself up differently:

Why limit yourself to new games?
I primarily game on my 360, so most games I buy get bought for that. I don't have many PS3 games and the ones I do have don't have local co-op or multiplayer. But I love to play games with someone in the same room.

So recently, I've been buying older games to play with my buddy. I picked up Gauntlet Legends for PSone for about $5 shipped on eBay and we have been having a blast playing that. Brings back so many memories from being a young'n and playing the game at Fudruckers or the mall.

I'll second the Lego games as well. They are so much fun, single-player or co-op.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light.

Such an amazing co-op experience.

Castle Crashers is good too.

thanks for the answers, a lot of fun stuff out there. I wish my friends had less dudebro preferences, at least women aren't making a face when I'm playing LBP 2.

My son and I just finished Pixel Junk shooter and are now playing Super Stardust and having a blast with both
