Guess I need to post this again since there are some people who seem to have already forgotten after 2 page. Wow, how the mind slips!

Posting revenge porn with their real full names then another admin(a now jailed pedophile) printed the photos and jacked off over them and sent it to the boyfriend.

You're right, how can we even know if he's guilty or not? HMMMM

How could anyone have any confidence in the Win10 store if they don't fix this?

That's what I'm saying. Windows is pushing their new store and hopes nobody even notices how they just left all these purchases to die. That's why you don't see a lot of games that aren't mobile ports on the Windows 10 store. People have no faith in buying them there so why bother? Just put them on Steam and have much more consumer confidence.

Personally I will never buy anything on the Windows 10 store unless it's very cheap and I can be reasonably okay with eventually losing it someday.

An online chat session with an Xbox.com support rep referred me to Steam and the support information provided by Steam. Despite the fact that I didn't purchase this product from Steam, I purchased it from Microsoft.

what??

Not surprised. This was bound to happen.

Sure, but it should have been preceded with an announcement as originally planned, not quietly done behind the scenes as appears to be the case.

Fuck anybody who still hasn't ripped GFWL out of their games and fuck Microsoft for not helping developers do so either.

It's not up to Microsoft to help developers replace GFWL with Steamworks and nor should it be as publishers elected to use it voluntarily. MS did give the GFWL service a long stay of execution, though, which is really all you can ask.

Yep, I've been having this problem for ages. Can't get to any of the stuff I've purchased.

Also this means there is literally no legit way to play Viva Pinata on PC at the moment beyond tracking down a physical copy. In 2016.

Also, this isn't actually a Games for Windows Live problem, it's a Games for Windows Marketplace problem. As far as I can tell, games that just use GFWL as part of the software work fine.

How could anyone have any confidence in the Win10 store if they don't fix this?

Guess what? I don't. And this is why.

Is it illegal to torrent a game you bought if GFWL is making it unplayable?

Wondering as a discussion point, I can't even remember anything on GFWL that's still stuck on it besides uhm...is bioshock 2? Not like I want to play that anyways.

Technically, yes, but morally speaking I don't see anything wrong with it, aside from the fact that by using torrents specifically you're helping to distribute the copy (this doesn't apply to, say, Usenet).

Bio2 was moved to Steamworks in 2013.

Bioshock 2 is Steamworks now.

Nice, I lost Fable 3.
If I contact Microsoft, will they provide me a Steam key?
EDIT: I'm trying to contact Microsoft, chat is not available for me, I can only use the forum and Twitter. :l

When people shit on others for wanting games like Killer Instinct and Halo Wars 2 on Steam instead of Win 10 store exclusive, just show them crap like this.

I dunno breh

Wasn't Fable 3 removed from Steam because they ran out of keys supposedly?

I don't know, but I know I can't access the game I bought on GFWL anymore.
Anyway I just sent them a Twitter message, I expect absolutely nothing out of this, but let's see.

That's extremely shady locking people out of their purchases without any sort of precedent/announcement. To do it for months too?
That's...that's a disgusting business practice.

Same for me, it's not even recovering my account info on top right, I have no gamer pic and 0 Gamerscore.

I don't even remember anything I bought from it, I used to get the games on Steam even if they were GFWL. I stored my GFWL keys as backup in case something like this happens, so I could reinstall those games through torrents. Because that's possible, right?

RIP

Also sucks that we'll never get Viva Pinata now, but whatever. Say what you want about uPlay and Origin but at least they never gave up and locked away purchases.

Bulletstorm is likely forever screwed isn't it?

I asked PCF about the possibility of Bulletstorm being patched after it acquired the IP last year and, unsurprisingly, was told that since EA's publishing contract for the game has yet to expire, PCF can't do anything to it without EA's say-so.

It's hard to say how much longer it'll be until publishing rights revert back to PCF. I'd guess EA has them for five or 10 years, and the game's five years old of today, coincidentally.

Edit: Oh, wait, was looking at the wrong tab. Feb. 22, not 11. 11 more days until it turns 5. ;)

Edit edit: God knows what I misremembering People Can Fly as to have wrote "PoF" as the abbreviation.

5 years down, 5 to go.

Soon.

Got a reply on Twitter:
Hey there, very sorry to hear this! I'm afraid we don't have the capability to provide Steam keys or anything like that. However, our teams are aware of the GFWL issue & investigating it right now. Please let us know if anything changes on your end & we'll be sure to let you know when we have any updates. Thanks! ^BD

What about physical copies? Can we still activate those?

I always found it strange that the key from a physical copy never seemed to get tied to my account.

Wow, that is pretty shitty. Someone should nuke this onto a news site; watch shit magically get fixed after people take to twitter in masse.

If Fable 3 works like Halo 3 yeah, you can activate it as many times as you want, the cd-key doesn't register on your account, it's something similar to old cd-keys for offline games, so it can be used an infinite amount of times.

Anyway I think the 20€ I spent on Fable 3 ended like Ethan Carter: vanished.

Microsoft eventually fixed that ridiculous oversight. Exhibit A.

What a garbage. Luckily it's the only game I own on GFWL.

Keys being usable multiple times wasn't even the worst of it -- any GFWL key worked for any GFWL game. How MS didn't pick up on that throughout testing is baffling.

Is there a list of games that got moved to Steamworks fully? I know that Dark Souls, Street Fighter 4 and Resident Evil 5 made it.
