Games that made you go "Nope" in less than a minute

Last Rebellion and White Knight Chronicles spring to mind, less than 1 min of gameplay of either title was enough to have me reaching for the off button.

I am Bread.

I get a few laughs on Youtube, but I can't see playing the game having much substance.

Or I could be missing out from playing the best game of all time! Hmm... I'll take that chance and not play it.

Guacomolee (some luchador game)

Surgeon Simulator for PS4. I bought it off that flash sale a while back for real cheap, didnt play it for months, finally booted it up the other day because I was bored, and...

...Nope.

Thats the first and only time I gave up on something that quick.

I can't imagine nope-ing out on Guacamelee though, that game is awesome!

I didn't get into a lot of Suda51's games last gen. They just rub me the wrong way. I bought Anarchy Reigns and it was pointless. I love Platinum's games. I loved Vanquish and Bayonetta, but the AR wasn't doing it for me. I shut Killer is Dead off real quick. It was dragging on and on more than it was entertaining me.

Suda 51 doesn't have anything to do with Platinum or any of the games you mentioned except Killer is Dead. I think you're confusing Platinum with Grasshopper.

PlanetSide 2 on PS4. 10-15fps in a major fight, killed from every side.

No.
Took me 20 minutes to get a match. Played for 10 minutes. I couldn't enter a vehicle, didn't see an enemy player the entire time, and no one was moving. I think the connection was terrible. You get what you pay for I guess

The Slaughtering Grounds

My friend wont even refund it, now I am stuck with that turd.

If you hate someone, gift them that on steam.

The 360 version of Warface, A f2p shooter made by Crytek. I think it was only in beta but it was absolutely terrible. Never went back to it

Fable 3. Got it for free due to some glitch on Xbox Live which made the digital version downloadable without paying. The first time I opened the inventory system that makes you walk around a room to swap items and such caused me to become instantly annoyed and delete the game.

I still regret risking a console ban even though it never came.

I hate when people like OP try to pass off being overly critical and never giving anything a chance as "having discerning tastes" and "knowing what's worth my time."

It's narrow-minded and pretentious.

dirty bomb
ill probably give it more of a shot later on, but all i felt when i tried it was pls someone protect me from games like this

Titan Attacks

You can be the judge. I went in blind and deleted in less than a minute.

For me, I've got too many great shmups on hand and I'm just not into revisiting this mechanic with that presentation, at all. I get the "I could be playing Einhander heebie jeebies."

Thread choice of games is silly, but I'm responding more to the concept of whether you can legit delete a game after less than 60 seconds of gameplay.

My answer, yes.

Same here. Opened it.

"Oh look, it's Space Invaders."

Deleted it.

Assassin's Creed Revelations.

I really wanted to get to the end of Ezio's story. But then I launched the game, played for five minutes... yeah, exactly the same shit I was getting sick of.

Played Black Flag a few months later and had a blast !

Particularly when one is well known and loved. I mean "some luchador game", seriously?

Sonic 4 made be nope after the first level. Everything felt wrong in that game. The physic was weird, the homing attack felt out of place, the platforms were oddly placed, the speed sections had random enemies in the path that made you bump into them and lose all your rings.

Everything about it other than perhaps the art style just felt ill conceived and poor in comparison to the prior games.

I really disliked guacamelee, have the fortune to play it as a free game, good lord the game is filled with references every corner. pretty good game but still dont click for me.

On topic

I couldnt stand Terraria or Minecraft for more than 10 mins, never been a fan of survival games like Dont Starve and Blinding of Isaac just did son runs and never played them after

Got a PS4 and PS+ for a while now
PS+ gives you games for free, but I play them for less than a minute before deleting them
sometimes.

ollie skateboard game
Guacomolee (some luchador game)

I know if a game it's worth my time I guess.

How about you, ever played a game in less than a few minutes or seconds
what's you record before going "Nope"?

My record had to be ollie skateboard game ( I am not even sure if it's the real name of that game)
as soon as this tutorial came up and failed the first action, I was like "Nope" bye.

Did the same for quacamelee. Probably less than 20 seconds tbh.

NHL 15 was another one. Far too similar to 12/13/14 so I skipped it.

LittleBigPlanet or Escape Plan.

Didn't like the controls, thats one of the only things that can instantly kill a game for me.

I am with you OP, I usually download PS+ games try them for 5 minutes and usually just delete them all and never look back. Now I am not even downloading the games anymore, I mean why waste bandwidth?

super mario bros. (some plumber game)
ocarina of time (some elf fantasy bullshit)
half-life (some scientist game)
bloodborne (some sort of victorian-era london simulator)

Wow, it's almost like people have different tastes in games or something

LoZ: Ocarina of Time - Framerate sucked, controls were clunky. Wasn't interested in the theme / atmosphere enough to push myself to play it

Outlast for PS4.

that game is no joke. true survival horror, where you can only run and hide. it doesn't hold back at all.

Have you seen the launch trailer? It sold me on the game. Game surprised me. The levels and modes are quite varied, you always have a goal (it's not mindless flailing), and it's challenging, partly due to the tricky controls but also because you get better as you play and practice. Soon you're able to acrobatically flip and climb through the environments. The levels have a cool "Honey I Shrunk The Kids" vibe too, since you're small in regularly sized environments

This thread makes me sad. All of you people giving answers did you really quit the game in - let's be generous - 5 minutes? There have probably only been a handful of games I didn't give at least a hour (Burn Zombie Burn, When Vikings Attack). Say what you want about this, but most games don't start fast.

And there are good games being listed here! Ocarina of Time? Really?! This is like the equivalent of watching my girlfriend try a game for 5 minutes and saying she is bored, but she doesn't play games like yall do (and coincidentally the last instance of this was Ocarina of Time).

My wording is what got to you.

I saw that. I was just mentioning some titles. I realize that. I also realize Shadows of the Damned. I didn't mean to confuse you. They also had 1 person work on that title from Platinum. His feat. or collaboration was going through my head at the time. This weather is getting to me. lol

In all honesty. I owned No More Heroes and after a while I just couldn't do it anymore. It was neat concept and I enjoyed NMH more than I did KID

If anything I'd like to see Suda51 do something more like Vanquish. Something a little bit more open with just a little less to show off in terms of character involvement. To me he has great ideas, but he sure knows how to drive you off a map real quick.

I really hated Guacomolee, super boring but I did give it a shot! I actually bought it too before it went up on PSN+. Can't say that I've ever dropped a game so suddenly.

also fable 3, the bicentennial man of video games for me

I didn't think I was going to make it out of the castle in Fable 3. I got to the part where you had to do something with chickens. I did it then I went out of the world to the map screen and called it good. Something about it felt like I was playing a game not designed for me. It felt bad. I was happy I wasn't alone. It was a huge step down from Fable 1 and 2.

Overlord. My god. I bought this game brand new. I had $60 and people were telling me it was a solid game. F*ck that. I got so bored of throwing little minions off of the screen. Sad part is, I even went and bought the Steam version. I never play it. It just doesn't sound fun. The game mechanic is cool, but if you're going to do it- do it with some sorta versatile character. I hated it.

Star Wars The Forced Unleashed. I got past the part with Darth Vader and I turned it off and sold it. It wasn't amazing. It wasn't even fun. I fought a few people as Starkiller and I had enough. I wasn't doing anything cool and the character just had nothing to him except he looked good doing all the force moves.

There's been a few times I traded in a game because I couldn't play it for more than an hour. I did this with Heavenly Sword too. I thought it was just a simple, easy to play game, and the character wasn't interesting. I did it with Haze too.

I was a little burned out after Force Unleashed. Resident Evil 5 made up for that for me. I know some people disliked it, but Mercenaries mode was a lot of fun for a while and the ending was decent.

I also hated a few PS2 titles I got like Growlanser Heritage of War. I couldn't get past the beginning dialogue. I tried, but failed.

A minute into Guacamelee isn't even enough time to become the luchador. It's like playing half the intro to bioshock and quitting because there wasn't any shooting in it.

To contribute to the thread, that Road Not Taken game on PS4 was a pretty quick experience. Not a minute, but not that much longer.

That was games with gold launching lol

I gave stick it to the man and that weird planet doodle one(edit:doki doki universe) less than 5 minutes.

Good picks. I gave SITTM several hours, but no way am I finishing the game. DDP turned me off immediately, and I gotta say, despite all the love for OlliOlli, I just ain't feeling it. Still got it on my Vita though, so maybe someday...
