Games that made you go "Nope" in less than a minute

I got don't starve with my ps4. I dicked around with it for a little while and then uninstalled it. I just didnt care about trying to survive in its bland and boring world.
I installed perfect world, walked around for ten seconds and then uninstalled it. It looked and felt janky and awful.
I installed kingdoms of amalur, saw that the camera was permanently set at such a low point that you could barely see the sky, and uninstalled.

Some of you guys seem to be really insecure, it's not like OP said Guacamelee or OlliOlli were bad games, just that they didn't resonate with him. There are plenty of games that I can say didn't interest me after watching a trailer or simply playing for a short amount of time;

Dragon Ball Xenoverse
J Stars
Anything Naruto related
Super Time Force
Mercenary Kings
Many more......

edit : MMO's....many many MMO's

Mgs ground zero got PS+ edition free, turned on first minute was movie and I'm like nope, not this shit again. Immediately deleted.

this is the only one for me in recent memory. hated the art style and atmosphere/vibe in general.

I am all for smaller indie games, but they want to tackle the big problem of Triple A by being incredibly dispensable. I could liquidate a lot of games I have just because they're promising a cheap thrill. I think it could change for some people if you just opened that catalogue up and made VC games a little easier to get on your console. Waiting this long for Shovel Knight or something like Binding of Isaac is asinine. I wish indie devs thought a little harder than just copying games of yesteryear and adding a weird mechanic or a new skin.

Haha I also quit Guacamelee early after 15 or so minutes. I know it's a superficial reason, but I just didn't like the art style the game had. And I had read earlier that it was full of internet meme references and that kinda turned me off as well. Oh well, that's me and my PS+ free games. I tend to never give them much of a chance lol

Guacamelee was one of the last games that gave me that SNES feel of being a kid again when I played it. Loved the sense of mystery and adventure.

this fucking game

Planetside 2. Downloaded it a couple of days ago. Played it for 5 minutes and I knew it wasn't for me. The conquest maps in battlefield maps are annoying somewhat ok for me but I just couldn't deal with maps that large and running through them. I mean god damn.

The hell.. Guacamelee is one of the best games of the last 2 years. Olliolli is great but you have to be into it.

Guacamelee tho... Man, you missed out if you gave up on that after 1 minute.

Dwarf Fortress. Not in the mood to puzzle out the situational meanings of hundreds of ASCII characters. I couldn't find a good tileset at the time and just gave up. Game looks like it was made in the 1970s.

Proteus. Granted I gave it longer than a minute just to make sure there was nothing more to it, but yeah.

Less than a minute is not enough time. Shit, you usually are still watching the opening cutscene and are being taught how to play the damn game in the tutorial.

Terrible post, OP.

Gameplay matters more than graphics (most of the time), and very few games match the complexity or depth of Dwarf Fortress. You should give it another try

Amnesia: Dark Descent did it for me, but only in terms of "shut this off before I have a heart attack" (which is, I believe, the traditional meaning of "nope" as used in the OP, in which the OP does not use it in that way). In terms of judging a game on its merits and the like? No, of course not. I can tell if a game is worth a shot based on videos of gameplay. Surely people do watch at least one video of a game before they buy it these days, yeah?

I know what you mean. Haven't been able to play more than 5 minutes of Amnesia. That unsettling sound design always gets me

You were doing it wrong. Instant Action will get you into fights in seconds.

Spelunky.

It felt cheap and minimally implemented and barely rewarding from the onset. Then when I died and everything reset I was like

I'll usually try for at least 15 min to 30 min to give it a go and even then I still feel like I should have put more effort in.

The most recent game I couldn't give even that much time to was Super Time Force or maybe Volgaar. I just don't have the skills obviously.

Also OP Guacamelee is amazing. Keep at it.

P.T. but in a good way. RIP :'(

The stupidest thing I ever did in the game was turned around to see the lady just staring at me and attack me. I've only played it three times and every single time I've shut off the game immediately; I've actually never seen more than a minute of the game! I don't know why I find her so scary! Perhaps I should stop playing at night with headphones lol.

I really didn't enjoy most MMOs/WRPGs I've played. I can't put myself in the worlds enough to have fun. Takes several hours before I can make myself stop altogether and not feel bad.

Sonic Generations to some degree but it was more like 40 min. It was good, but I guess I'm not into Sonic style gameplay.

tbh guys I didn't like Guacamelee that much. Still liked it but I expected more given the fandom it has.

I often dismiss a game for the aesthetic alone, since I don't want to be looking at the game at all regardless of the gameplay. (My example: Wonderful 101, deformed Sunday morning Power Ranger NO THANKS to that.)

But to say "Nope" to a game after just 1 min of gameplay is a very strange concept to me. I am sure you would at least like to try the game out if the idea and aesthetic attracts your purchase... but what conclusion can you get playing just after 1 min?
