While critics were certainly pleased with the Xbox Series X|S, the praise was carefully measured and weighted with a handful of caveats. With PlayStation 5, it's unequivocal -- if you're looking for a taste of what the next generation of gaming will be like at this point in time, Sony is really the only choice.

Indeed, after reading more than a dozen product reviews, there was only one major complaint -- but that complaint was present in almost every article. In short, the PlayStation 5 is huge and, to many reviewers, not especially attractive. The Daily Telegraph's Dan Silver was more forceful in his displeasure with Sony's industrial design than most.

I've been seduced by Astrobot, Spiderman & Demons Souls but I sure as hell haven't been €500+ seduced by them. Same goes for the Xbox, there's nothing interesting on it but give it 12 months to find its feet and with the hardware under the hood I'd be astounded if we don't get content that shows the ps5 up in some form or another.

Yet I'm still more excited to buy a PS5 over a Series X. I hope Sony patch the some of the stuff Series X has such as VRR, archiving games to external drives, quick resume in the first 6 months atleast. But the reason I prefer PS5 over Series X is because of the first party lineup in the first year in comparison to Series X. I also am more excited about the controller even though it's most likely gimmicky. Also like activity cards taking you straight into a certain point in a game instantly.

Digital Foundry provides the conduit and specifically funnels these people in, it's what they do.

Go look at VG Tech, no one even knows who he is because he keeps it solely about the data. No self interests, no points of view, no personal attachments or biased viewpoints. Just the data.

At this point he's the only objective analysis channel on the Internet. These guys have gotten too self involved and the quality of what they do has tanked.

There is a difference in praise something that really is good and everybody can see it versus try to create a narrative in their comparisons like they do for example recently with Halo Infinite.

I remember these shameless comparisons in PS4 vs XB1... they even faked graphics to try to show Xbox better.
