I remember walking around in Star Wars Galaxies thinking, "Where is the fun? How do I find it?"
And I never did.

icarus-daedelus said:But it's a Sonic game, ferchrissakes. How long has that franchise been in the shitter? A lot longer than 2006, fo sho.
Wario64 said:Why is State of Emergency on that list? Did people really expect it to be good because of the Rockstar name?
golem said:1. Star Wars: Galaxies
This game was awesome if you didnt care about leveling or combat.
2. Daikatana

Zombie James said:Raiden controlled exactly like Snake. As far as gameplay goes, it made no difference.
Flying_Phoenix said:Raiden really wasn't that bad.
Dance In My Blood said:Doom 3?
Really?
WEGGLES said:Clearly you didn't hear the part at the beginning of the video where they said it wasn't bad just didn't meet expectations.
Night_Trekker said:Too bad he wasn't a silent protagonist.
Yes he was. He was a whiny little bitch with a whiny girlfriend who, after a few hours in the field, considered himself some sort of veteran. "We bleed, we die!" Alright, Mr. V.R. soldier :lol
Fuck Raiden. MGS2 was a good game, but not because of him.
EatChildren said:Comparitively, from MGS to MGS2, I dont see how anybody couldnt see that MGS2 had;
Less memorable characters.
A less memorable location.
A less memorable protagonist.
A less interesting antagonist.
Increase in irrelivant, poorly written conversations.
Increase in irritating characters.
Worse pacing.
Overall far worse story, both in content, structure, and presentation.
Poorer twist.
More convoluted.
Sure it introduced some cool mechanics to the franchise, but its an abortion compared to the original.

FTWer said:Doom 3?
Seriously?
Straight across the board high reviews (gametrailers gave it a 9.0), no one really showed disappointment when it came out. The only criticism people had with the game was the flashlight.
In fact it was one of the most inspirational/cloned games of the decade, games likes Condemned, Quake 4, The Darkness, FEAR, Prey & nameless more FPS basically copied Doom atmosphere & style.
sdornan said:I'd put Mario Kart Wii somewhere in there. So disappointing for me personally.
Also, Metroid: Other M might be a future inductee to the list based on impressions I've heard.

Well, in that case, I assume he's been reading kneejerk Metroid loyalist opinions.Instro said:I assume hes been reading GAF impressions. Totally legit.
AltogetherAndrews said:You're out of your fucking mind. The flashlight thing was treated as a straight up broken component, but there were complaints all over the place, if not in reviews, about the structure of the game itself. Monster closets, shitty pacing, samey combat and environments, take your pick. It was ripped on plenty, and it didn't help that it released in close proximity to HL2.
Flying_Phoenix said:Now this post isn't trying to defend MGS2, but:
Seriously everything you just said could apply to Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake to Metal Gear Solid (except the antagonist and presentation).
JJConrad said:-I like the quick Wii trolling in their videos introduction clips.
EatChildren said:So for me, at least, huge expectations were put on MGS2, and it failed to deliver. Great gameplay mechanics introduced, every single other thing inferior. Its really more than a case of "WHY AM I NOT SNAKE".
Flying_Phoenix said:Well opinions are opinions I suppose.
So let's just shake hands and walk away.
I do. MGS2 has the best gameplay of the first three MGS games, especially once you learn to do more advanced tricks.Gamer @ Heart said:Very true, but no one remembers MGS2 for the gameplay.
There's no room for logic here. Just blind hate for things that aren't even released yet.tabsina said::lol Not that I've seen any articles like this, wouldn't the knowledge of it being bad prior to release remove it from the candidates of possible disappointment when it is actually released?
Absolutely true.Dogenzaka said:*dons flame-shield*
Grand Theft Auto IV should have been dangerously near the top of that list.
So it is. What an odd choice of clips. If you didn't know the original trailer, it just looks like its two separate clips in their montage.Andrex said:That was trolling Red Steel, not the Wii.
ArjanN said:Too bad the rest of the game isn't nearly as good. The first part being so awesome is exactly why people were so dissapointed with the final game.
Seriously, the second part of MGS2 was pretty much Kojima trolling his fanbase.
icarus-daedelus said:List lacks Deus Ex: Invisible War, therefore sucks.
Well, actually, it's an OK list, but whoever the hell thought Sonic the Hedgehog was going to be a good game got what they deserved.
