In retrospect of his tweet, whether it's right or wrong, I'm kind of disappointed he posted it. He is a guy who does a bunch of hosting at E3 and tries to lock down exclusive information so he should know that posting this price point ahead of time deflates hype for an upcoming show.
I'm still not sure why he posted this unless it was intended to be a deflection and then he still doesn't look good.
In what fantasy land is a person living suggesting that a $500 PC build is a substitute for someone interested in a 4K-capable console?
If you're looking for 4K gaming then your choices are limited to a PS4 Pro, Scorpio, or a $1,000+ PC, with varying degrees of 4K fidelity.

I kind of agree, we're only a few hours off. Should have let Xbox show that they have to offer first
People who feel this way need to realize that Scorpio is not targeted at them.
What if Geoff told you the price of the unannounced game was $60?
Then why make it? Why waste money on R&D for a console that will sell less than the original (if 500)? They'll just launch one because Sony did it?
You don't launch a product just because.
Don't we have years and years of gaming market historical data that seems to suggest that costing $100 more than your competition is a terrible thing?
