I had no idea this game was about prehistoric times until last night. I'm really out-of-touch with the whole Far Cry scene, since generally it doesn't seem like my cup of tea. It's great to see a game loosely based on an era tackled in one of my favorite books:

...not that I expect Far Cry: Primal to broach the theory of advanced human evolution. Don't worry. I'm not crazy. I don't expect this at all.

Anyway, I'm not a collector, so by default I'm not particularly interested, but it seems kind of crazy to me that playing as a frakking mammoth is a CE thing. Then again, I've given up on making sense of these industry standards of "up to 45 minutes of additional gameplay" -- what does that even mean? 10 minutes of fresh content which we can master in 45? I guess I'm just salty because I kind of want to trample things as a mammoth for 45 minutes. Who doesn't? Gandhi, I guess, but he's Gandhi.

The enhancement packs just sound like the usual instance of taking the normal length of time for leveling up and reducing it slightly for people who pay a little extra. Lame.

On the other hand, some of that physical stuff sounds awesome. The Wenja gig in particular. Proto-Indian European hype. What a time to be alive.

Just wait, there will be two more editions coming, each with a different statue of a sabertooth tiger taking a dump on your wallet.

But really I'm a bit tempted just for that phrasebook based on Proto-Indo European. One of the cooler things I've seen in a collector's edition in a while.

Wasn't expecting this at all. Same dev studio as FC4? If so, I will likely buy. FC4 was great.
