Weird to think that Call of Duty might fade into irrelevance like Tony Hawk did. Maybe Ubisoft are smart, taking some time off from milking their franchises.

Hmm... I wonder if this is including the Xbox One S

-31% on BF week doesn't sound right

Its momentum. People buy what their friends buy and if more people are buying ps4's then there are more people out there with less reason to go with the xbox this time round. It tends to only get worse with time unless Microsoft did something drastic like get COD/Fifa exclusive.

Why? Xbox One was significantly down YoY for the first 6 months, had a slight uptake with the early Xbox One S upgraders, but now that has faded away and it's back to the downward trend it's been on for the rest of this year. Microsoft in their own financial forecast expected it.

In the UK I think consumers will never see value in XB1 if they are in price parity with PS4.
The lower priced PS4 slim launch+holiday deals means MS have to be at least 50 quid cheaper.

That -31% drop on BF week says it all really.

What a lot of rubbish the Xbox One (S in particular) has been selling very well in the UK, Outside the US, the UK is the strongest market. There have been some amazing Xbox One S bundle deals in the UK.

That is for any country.

XB1 needs to be cheaper than PS4 to have value in consumer minds because it is a weaker machine (that didn't change with XB1 S).

The only consumers will see value in XB1 over PS4 at the same price are the fans and some casuals that wants a UHD + games machine.

I was still typing and posted submit by accident at that point..
I figured someone would see it and go crazy lol.

You can look at my full post to understand what I was trying to type fully, relax.

Yeah I hear ya.

It's gonna be a pain for MS profit wise once Sony gets really aggressive with Slim price cuts later in 2017.
That console seems built for quick discounting.

Second biggest market for xbox and it dropped 31% with a price drop, crazy deals and a 4k player. What happened?

But they are still down 31% on the biggest shopping week of the year with better bundles then they had last year.

Because it's not crazy deals when the deal already started in early November.
Like someone above said, the deal in BF week is not really big difference compare to normal weeks.

The huge threads about PS4 pro lacking UHD player and Slim lacking optical and how sony is losing momentum are super funny to get back to now.

Yeah, we're used to absurd bundle deals and discounts on Xbox One, it's pretty much the norm at this point and the main reason why it's still in a respectable (rather than a distant) second place in the UK.

The S being a 4K Bluray player is barely relevant despite what some will claim. UHD Blurays still have barely any retail presence in the UK.

Unfortunately, 95% of the people that post in these kind of threads are completely ignorant of the worldwide market situation.

All SKUs combined... PS4 includes Pro too.

PS4 had way better deals this year in UK.
They've both been dishing out the deals no end, there's no way to see any good in these Xbox numbers I'd be very worried if I were ms given the crazy deals the big games out and the s on the market and they are massively down on last year that's worrying for them in thier second best market.

Hmmm Xbox one down 31%? Is that on previous month or the same month a year before?.

I think that's on the same time last year, which is pretty concerning. Surely Black Friday should be the biggest sales period of the year for tech like this, and to drop more than 30% after a hardware revision and some really good deals seems unexpected.

Streaming/digital is the future, people are just mad about the lack of UHD player in the console warz. It's less ammo for/against them.

A lot of the PS4 Black Friday deals were noticeably superior to the Xbox deals, MS's prices were too high in comparison - they dropped the ball.

Another thing to remember about Xbone was that it was having huge sales to clear OG xbone stock in the weeks leading to BF. Like, silly silly prices.

Good or not, they expected about this since financial forecast which is pretty long time ago(even before One S released).

And about the deals during November, see above.
There are many reason that combined to make Xbox One dropped in BF week(deals, PS4 Slim/Pro release etc), but for MS they pretty much already expected that, in fact they maybe unexpected that Scorpio announcement didn't hurt One S that much.

.

Its quite exciting going 'crazy' from time-to-time.

So what's your take on a 31% drop YoY ?

The Xbox One is selling less than last year.
