Ghost Recon AW Event (Xbox 360 inside)

quiznos said:
its true. this is the low end of Ubisoft. just wait till what Prince of Persia next gen and Splinter Cell do

its apples and oranges. gr2 looked VERY good when it launched. graw looks like it will look VERY good when it launches as well.

i have no doubts ubi's later games will look better, especially games that dont have the same scope as graw.

gr1 (xbox) NEVER looked good :lol

ahh, heres the quote i was looking for

Thanks for linking that bsc. Should be popping up on all the sites pretty soon.

One thing to note. The game (IMO) looks great, but you are NOT looking at high-res textures from the game. This video was produced a while ago and all the HD textures were not put in yet. This is meant to give you a glimpse of in-progress gameplay but mainly to explain a core feature of the game.

You will see a LOT of videos in the next 2 months, and most will have these textures in them. I will try to get some stuff on marketplace so you can run it on your HDTVS and see the difference. Its truly jaw dropping, but don't take it from me! Wait until you see it for yourself.

If you guys have questions, lemme know!

yes. im tired of all the people bashing this game..."OMG its not E3 trailer....xbots am cry". come time for release i gurantee this game will be great, it will make shawn michaels say WOW

If it's still dumbed down for console players, you can have my serving of crow.

Do I think it looks great ? Yes absolutely

Will 3 tactical squads be controllable and allow switching at any time like GR1 ? or the PC version ? God I hope so, dumbing it down to only controlling 1 person and not 3 squads with any player at my disposal sucks balls. If I wanted a simplistic military game I would have bought that choppy mess 3rd person game, which I wont name, on the PS2.

Give the players full control back UBI, damn you............

Some rough spots here and there, but it looks much improved over the last set of screens. Best thing is they still have quite a bit of dev time left to iron it out further.

Gotdamnit I thought this was releasing in 2 weeks............
It's an old-ish quote, but yeah, it won't be out 'till around the end of March.

I was wondering the same thing as you Op Ivy. I remember reading that but being confused as to which textures he was referring to. Did he mean that the videos would have the HD textures or was it supposed to be read as the videos would still be using the lower rez textures. Can someone who actually has some real insight or ability to find out answer this please! Che, CHE are you there. This is the shit us readers of you website and magazines want to know. If you can clarify this it would be much appreciated.

yeah, at first i assumed he was saying that most upcoming media would have the lower res textures... but on a second reading, it sounds like hes saying most of the upcoming videos would have the hd textures...

Cool I hope there is a noticeable difference and I am not left scrathing my head. I wonder if this media has these updated textures or is that something we will see later.

I am really looking forward to this game. I enjoyed part 2 online but most of my friends dumped the game too soon. I am glad to see blood is in and I hope the physics on the characters is better when they get shot, it seemed to lack any impact. To me it looked as if the enemy was falling asleep when they were shot.

There is 4xAA in multiplayer too of course.
I've been really amazed by the game. I have about one hour and half of footage but I won't be able to release it until mid february at best. It's *very* difficult to correctly film a game that makes such a heavy usage of HDR, as you can't simply fix the exposure level and have a good result, so the videos are not as good as I hoped they would.
Still, having a level designer making a gameplay demonstration in a level he created is something you have to see once :)

actually the Ghost Recon developers have had the crapiest graphics from all developers in Ubisoft. This is the LOW end of Ubisoft graphics
Actually, they got pretty good. Summit Strike has some fine ass graphics.

Look at my first post. I'm not trolling the thread, I'm trolling your troll. Which, incidentally, was trolling past trolls.

coming from you, the graw love is great, as iirc you were one of the vocal people about what a poor showing it had at x05.

How did the controller feel when you fired a gun? Were the rumble effects good?

Sad to say between the interview and the shooting of the game videos I did not even have time to get a controller for the multiplayer mode. Considering I suck at this type of game it's not that big a deal ;)

why so late? is the game still on track for spring release ?

Does each gun have it's own style of crosshair? It was one of the things they mentioned in the developer chat they were working on.

How good were the sound effects?

Ask Ubisoft, it's a worldwide embargo or something like that. And it's still planned for a march release.
Brimstone: Every gun has its own crosshair. The sound effects were excellent, on par with the graphics.

Blim, how close is it to the e3 video?
The most impressive thing about that video was the explosion. Everything else didn't seem like it would be that difficult to achieve.

Ubisoft actually let me film the whole ambassy level so people could compare it with what was shown at E3 :)
The explosion looked about the same to me, but then I did not really try to see every little detail of the E3 video.

:D Ubisoft must be pretty confident then. Your comments page will implode!

It already did with the preview, and I'm not really happy with what I'm seeing. I may have to use the banstick quickly.
I've just been told that the embassy video is completely underexposed by the guy who will have the honor to cut and encode it. Darn HDR making filming games correctly really difficult :(

Ok thanks, thats great to hear they did make a unqiue crosshair for each weapon and the sound is also top notch. The audio technology aspect comes across as impressive with GRAW also supporting 7.1 surround sound.

What???

WMA 7.1 audio for the win??

Yep, me to. I actually wanted this game more than COD2. There was much funnage to be had with GR2 over live. I think that Ubi pulled of the MP portion of GR2 better than Halo 2; but I'm biased because I just like GR2's style of combat better.

In an EGM released a couple of months back, the GRAW preview has several screenshots, and one of them having the text mentioning 7.1 audio.

so was there anything regarding the destructable environtments. i know when they first mentioned this game they were talking about being able to completely destroy cars as well as possibly shooting a wall behind an enemy and have the rubble fall on them??

I'd say it'd only happens in a scripted way, but maybe I'm wrong.
One thing that was really nice was how the gun impacts looked. I'd go as far as to say that they are better than FEAR's.
