Unity is putting together a sample project to showcase its engine as well as provide insight to game designers of the development tool, plus generate experiential feedback to Unity itself of game design using its tools.

Called Gigaya, this sample game will be released free to the public as both a playable game (to be released on Steam) and project file (including assets and source code) for gamers and game developers to check out a creation with the modern version of the engine and development suite.

Gigaya uses the URP render pipeline and will utilize features such as Shader Graph, VFX Graph, Rigidbody physics, and other aspects of the current Unity Engine feature set. The team at Unity creating this sample game is composed of 15 creators (located across the globe.) Not only will they be creating the game/project, their feedback on development will help give Unity perspective on its engine. "The ultimate goal in releasing Gigaya on Steam is...to help identify their pain points and offer solutions to help level up creators of all sizes." They will also be blogging about the project for developers to follow along the progress."

(*And yes, this OP comes well aware of the prevalent feeling for and frustration with Unity Engine in portions of the gaming audience and even the game design community...)
