[Glitch or Censor?] One Piece World Seeker sexy pre-order bonus mission is absent from N/A release.

From here: https://www.oneangrygamer.net/2019/...on-missing-from-north-american-release/80067/

Also, seemingly it is/was free for EU markets? Hence why the dubious title because BNamco is peculiar when it comes to its pre-order bonuses.

A pre-order bonus mission called the “Phantom Remedy” was available for those who put down some coin early for the game in Europe and Japan. However, North American gamers were seemingly left out of the loop.

As reported by Twinfinite, there was a EP!C Rewards Club offer for those in the European Union to gain access to the special “Phantom Remedy” hot springs mission in One Piece: World Seeker.

Twinfinite points out that North American gamers can gain access to the outfits for Luffy from the special pre-order bonus DLC, but not the mission itself.

“Currently the Phantom Remedy mission is restricted to Japan as a preorder DLC while in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Middle East as an Epic Rewards item available here with currently no North America release”

^Scene from the DLC. So what you guys say? Incompetence on part of Bamco or deliberate censorship? Because it IS both funny and tragic at the same time that M.East got a version that was omitted from NA.

You don’t have to ban something people already don’t like.

The point is that Sony should not do any censorship or ban. People are already aware and mature of the products.

Of course, I would not buy this game but I'm not going to stop people from buying it, people know it's good and it's bad

You've now entered blocked scene...
How long before it becomes a meme...

This could be censorship, however I don't believe it's Sonys doing but rather the producers of the game, it's no secret right now that in the industry that a little T and A can cause a huge fuss usually on the dipsticks over on Reee and Twitter

In regards to the photo however that's fairly common in PS4 games, it's part of game share usually when you enter a story section that message will appear to avoid spoilers...happens in Ratchet and Clank too.

While I do assume Bandai Namco is purposefully attempting to hide the hot springs content from the general public in the West, I’m less certain its absence in NA was done with any ill intent.

Unless I’m wrong, the game was only released in Japan on PS4, likely attributing to the global lack of the hot springs DLC on PC. As for consoles, Bandai Namco locked the content in the EU & ME behind their regional EP!C Rewards program. The closest equivalent to the EP!C program in NA seems to be a more limited points system with their online store, which also appears to be managed by a third party. If Bandai Namco’s intention is to keep the hot springs content somewhat on the down-low by not attaching it directly to pre-orders/early purchases in the West, the lack of a convenient-gated platform that allows knowledgeable consumers to proactively opt into the DLC might be the reason NA isn’t being offered the content.

Either way, it sucks.

The funniest thing about the whole sony and censorship thing is that it points to them not knowing who buys their consoles.

The one piece anime and manga aimed at teens has women in bikinis like this and it's okay. Thankfully it is there for the eu version as a free reward in bandais club or whatever.

Boobs bad, blood good.

Based Sony, making all of my decisions for me so I don't get blasted with degenerate content!

Shitposting aside, I really can't stand censorship in any form of art. If the devs didn't include it in the game for their own reasons or vision, sure. But if it's in there, and the game is rated appropriately, there is no good reason for this censorship.

This is a worse outcome than I was expecting. This was the first game that had the potential to be censored on PS4 that also released on XB1 so I was going to look at it as a test for Microsoft.

DMCV being censored via patch on PS4 and not XB1 answered that question first, though. Now One Piece releases completely missing the scene in NA altogether. I did not expect the entire scene to be gone. What a mess.

I now have to worry about games having less content than other regions. I can't confidently pre-order games since there's no guarantee my copy will ship with all content.

It's crazy I can post explicit adult art on Twitter but I can see a hot spring event in a Teen rated game.

I hope this is a mistake but I have a feeling it's not. This makes me a bit nervous about Code Vein. There better not be region differences in that.

At least the costumes are still in the game. I would just buy the euro release but it's only a preorder bonus so...

Decapitate someone. Make them spurt gallons of blood. Stab them. Shoot them. Dismember them.

Just DON’T SHOW ANY BREASTS! That’s where we draw the line here in the US.

How do you handle the end of Wolfenstein II New Colossus when you have bloody boobs? I mean...theres boobs...but its got blood and violence. So it's fine? Cause Blood>Boobs, or cause and Bloody Boobs=Violence so ok?

And the article on OAG has not been updated yet, so the risk of this being a glitch is minimal now.

Damn, Middle East gets titties but not NA. What a time to be alive.

Sony is doing this since a while now. And it comes directly from Sony US they even order Japanese developers to send their Japanese only games so they can check them. Hell these people need to translate the game basically in English because these idiots in US do not understand Japanese it seems and this is just for checking if the game is ok to be released in Japan.

Free speech is dead in North America. Killed off not by the government, but by activists pressuring spineless corporations into compliance. Corporations need to understand that these extremists are NOT the majority of consumers, and are only a vocal minority. They probably don't even buy your games.

Looks like we will all have to import this game from Saudi Arabia, the great bastion of free speech.

By the way, did you know that Catherine for the PS3 was also released uncensored in Saudi Arabia in 2013? When Catherine Full Body is censored in NA do you also plan on importing the PS3 game from Saudi Arabia?

For those wanting confirmation, Bandai Namco responded to Twinfinite, telling them the DLC would not be released in NA.

No reason was given or any additional info provided, but the full article can be read at the following: Link.

Yeah, I'm not buying this game. Cutting content with no explanation is a no-go for me. Really worried about Code Vein.

I was gonna buy the european version (which is somehow cheaper than the US version) but then I noticed the game had a fucking season pass for 30 bucks. 1. That's overpriced garbage and 2. I'd have to have a european psn account. What a shitty situation all around.

I would have imported from Europe if the hot springs scene was on the disc but it being digital is a hassle. I hated dealing with DLC from Japanese games I imported. Hearing there is a season pass just lowers my enthusiasm further.

Gaming sucks for me these days. It's more headache and frustration than fun and inspiration.
