Apparently this projet is still alive and Play magazine got a exclusive, the character's name is Tyrus Flare (pretty awesome name for a Golden Axe character I migth say). It's being developed by Secret Level and they're trying to shoot at a mature rating with lot's of violence gore and maybe nudity. I would try and find the scans but well that's bannable here.

I really hope this doesn't become another "Conan". I mean while Conan was just "fun" to play and the leaving trails of hacked enemies behind was great...it just lacked any depth I think.

Should be interesting to see what they do with this game to differentiate it from the rest.

Oh well, it's the same awesome mindless fun of the old Golden Axe games then I'm all for it. .. Watch them cram it full of bullshit cutscenes! :(

About damn time, I wish SEGA would get off its ass and hand us a proper Altered Beast 3D remake and nothing like the piece of shit PS2 game

golden axe was enjoyable back in the day...but I wonder why they keep on reviving some of these oldeys...sales value I suppose, because the gameplay etc is completed overhald...Im guessing this will play nothing like the original...not that I want it to..Im just saying, its not as if there is a golden axe universe to dig into

even if it sucks, it would be worth it if Golden Axe: Revenge Of Death Adder was included as an unlockable.

hey, at least GA:BR probably can't be as bad as PS2 Sega 3D Ages remake which was a piece of dogshit shovelware.

Btw-did anyone ever laugh when they struck down one of the female enemies in the original game? Their death scream was hilarious,like some pornstar being gangbanged or something.

The fact that it was first announced at E3 2006 and this is the first time we've seen anything of this game since then isn't disasterous/delayed enough?

I loved the old Golden Axe games (or at least, the first arcade game and all three of the Genesis titles, which are the ones I've played), despite the questions surrounding the game (that is, how long there has been no news about it, the quality of the developer, etc) I hope that it's good... (and it's Tyris Flare, not Tyrus Flare... unless they changed her name... Tyris Flare, Ax Battler (who, oddly, doesn't use an axe... :)), and ... erm, I forget the dwarf's name.)

The October 2007 issue of Play magazine has revealed new details. The game will feature the return of Tyris Flare, the female amazon warrior from the first installments of the series. With a heavy focus on riding beasts, it will target a mature public since dismemberments, decapitations and nudity will be present. According to the magazine, the game is no longer on PS3 (or Wii) and is now a Xbox 360 exclusive. Golden Axe: Beast Rider will be released sometime in 2008.
