Very cool, getting it on April 6th then. Game looks fun and I want stuff like this to play in short bursts when not playing Zelda.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free

GRACEFUL EXPLOSION MACHINE
Before playing: Excited
After playing: Day-one purchase (jamming my credit card into the Switch)

Holy hell, you guys. THIS GAME. The art style is incredible. It's perfect for short play sessions and on-the-go gaming. I only had two concerns going in—juggling all the weapons and being able to discern what was happening on-screen—and they were both put to rest by the end of the demo. The controls are tight, and the game does a good job of easing you in, one weapon and mechanic at a time, and then ramping up the difficulty once you get into a rhythm. I met the lead developer Mo at the booth, and he was incredible to talk to. He has as much energy as anyone I've ever met, and you can tell that he's not only proud of his game, but he's proud that it's a Switch exclusive. People of reddit: this is a game that deserves our support—and it doesn't hurt that it's beautiful and fun to play. Best game I played all show, no contest.

Any other feedback from GAFers who were at Pax?

I'm so going to get this. Art style is very nice and it seems the developer "got" the spirit of early shooters.

Now, if Pocket Rumble wasn't delayed I'd be even happier.

I know it's a different visual style entirely, but something about the game is giving me strong Fantasy Zone vibes. I'll have to check it out.

I played it. Seems pretty neat! Like similar arcade shooters, it's definitely the kind of game where you get into a rhythm and the goal is to keep the momentum going. I'll probably hold on purchasing it for now simply because I have too much to play as it is but if the trailer during the Nindies caught your eye, you'll probably like this.

The devs seem like cool dudes too. I asked them why they decided to premiere on Switch and they said it was a combination of having their launch line up with the Switch's launch and just generally being huge fans of Nintendo.

This will be my next Switch game purchase. Already got Fast RMX and World of Goo. A steady stream of good indie titles is really helping Switch avoid a post-launch drought.

Not much of a shmup player since the genre's glory days in the arcade, but this game is arriving at the perfect time for me (right as I'm blowing through my first wave of post-BotW indies), and its combo-stringing systems remind me faintly of what the divisive shmup segments in Kamiya games are always going for. I'll be keeping my eye on impressions here for sure.

Not a big fan of the genre anymore but alot of people who had hands on have been gushing about it. Perfect price point to give it a go.

Not a big fan of the art style but considering I like shooting games and there's nothing else on the Switch to play, I'll pick this one up.

Really looking forward to this. This game, Mario Kart 8, and Shakedown: Hawaii will be getting a lot of attention from me this month!

No one signed up to do the OT? Sigh.

I intended to retire from doing OTs but now I'm tempted to give it one more go.

I'll always be interesting in Vertex Pop's games, as We Are Doomed is such an under-rated gem. One of the very best examples of twin stick arena shooters. Looks and sounds lovely too.

Definitely interested. The Eshop has been quite a boon in getting through to some bigger titles.
