All should've made it especially Regulate by Warren G.

It's seems like most people that dislike GTA V's radio are metal fans. Hmm. I thought the radio was absolutely perfect for the setting. Only thing that I would have added is a Kavinsky or synth pop station.
To me, GTAs soundtracks should:

1. Set the mood
2. Be fun to drive to
3. Have great talk radio

GTA V failed all 3, IMO.

I loved Non Stop Pop and a handful of the tracks but it just felt very disconnected and random.

I'm guessing they weren't able to re-license every song and now have to replace some, so they need new voiceover intros for those songs.

How these songs along with the Kavinsky Station never made it in saddens me.

Wasn't the "Kavinksy Station" a publicity stunt anyway?

Anyway, hope this means that I'll remember GTAV's OST as something more than parking lot concentration camps fucking with someone subliminally because he's a pervert who doesn't realize Plan B doesn't exist and nobody's going to save his world.

*shudders* GTAV had pretty crappy radio IMO. What happened to the golden age we had with the radio music in GTA3 through Vice City Stories?

With the setting in mind I'd like to see:

A Stones Throw station
A hippy/folk station. Chuck bands like Love on there too.
Maybe a jam band station
A house station (not electro), although that's not very LA
Bay Area punk station (Tony Hawk soundtrack kinda stuff)

Einchy

semen stains the mountaintops
Wasn't a fan of V's radio stations either. I think I only liked maybe 4-5 songs in the whole game.

Guys, obviously Kavinsky is being saved for a Vice City GTA game.

3. Have great talk radio

GTA V failed all 3, IMO.
This was the most important to me. GTA III's Chatterbox is still one of the funniest things to ever exist in a video game. I still go back and listen to clips of it on YouTube once in a while.

Fernando's New Beginnings. Classic.

Although, being as much of a fan of GTA III as I am, I obviously appreciated Lazlow's appearance in GTA V. Nice, solid fan service there.

Wasn't love sosa supposed to be in the game or was chief keef bullshittin??

that's some straight up goddamn nonsense.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. you can't beat augustus pablo. you can't.

The hyperbolic trashing of GTA V's soundtrack is completely without merit! I happen to think it's second only to GTA Vice City.

I think each GTA has a perfect soundtrack with songs that were picked for very specific reasons. It all fits. Yes, that includes IV and V. It's not about "oh, I love this song!" for me. I grew to love a lot of the stuff that randomly played when I hopped in a car.

Can't wait to see what they add, hopefully a good amount of stuff. I assume they'll be removing some of the tracks they had legal issues with though.

They sorta had a punk station on GTA V but I just couldn't get into it. Was more metal than punk, IMHO.

Yes, Gimme a good punk station.
There was no metal in the whole game, a lot of music on the punk station was hardcore punk which I imagine a lot of mainstream fans of punk wouldn't like. Honestly it was a only station I could get into since there wasnt any metal. At least they had suicidal tendencies. The one single band in the whole game I like.
Overall I didn't like it, because it didn't really have a lot of music I enjoy, but had tons that I can't stand.

Wonder how many of those songs were cut for space constrains on the XB360 side and how many were cut due to rights issues. Rockstar usually partners up with a record company and most of the songs they get come from it which I imagine is the most obvious answer for omissions.

Also, wish Rockstar would've kept up with the evolving radio station thing they did with GTA:SA, helped keep things a bit fresh even if you lost a program or two during the story. WCTR really needed it and more.

Integrity 3.0...Please for the love of all that is good in this world.

I was disappointed by the lack of what happened to Lazlo between IV/Stories and V.

how can gtav have jets and kenny loggins

but not danger zone

Or a yacht.

I haven't played GTAV and I'm not actually sure if I will get the PS4 port but "Sleepwalking" by The Chain Gang of 1974 was running on repeat for quite some time now. Increadibly awesome track in my opinion. Kudos to Rockstar for featuring it in their game. I wouldn't know this song if it weren't for the GTAV playlist on Spotify.

It's a pretty good song, but their live performance of it at the VGA's last year was unbelievably terrible.

I have to agree that GTAV had the worst soundtrack, I found I turned the radio off every time I jumped in a vehicle.

Yes, I too want to see a Metal station ;)

I think the main problem about V's radios are their lack of identity except ones like non-stop, rebel and west coast classic.
the songs are great, but in IV i can somehow know what to expect before tuning into each channel

Why the fuck was this station not in the final game!?

Perfect kind of station for this game!
It was just a publicity stunt. Lazlow who is the writer for all of the radio stations said that he never heard of anything involving that and that they take NDAs very seriously so if he had leaked it, it would've been removed..

ITT people that like metal only like metal
Honestly metal is such an extremely wide genre with so many different subgenres that putting it all under just "metal" is disingenuous. So while a lot of metal fans like my self will appear to like only metal, what constitutes "metal" will differ from person to person. I myself include industrial and some post grunge under the label. Its not like they have to throw shit in there only metal fans would like, how about pantera, or white zombie, or five finger death punch, or anything else that's mainstream? I'm not that picky.

You could definitely make a case for a doom/stoner/sludge metal station, especially when pootling around the desert area. kyuss, doomriders, sleep etc. shit would be cool

the hip-hop was lacking, but I mainly stayed on the R&B and Pop channel throughout. With the PS4/Xbox1 having spotify/streaming apps, I wonder if we'll ever get streaming radio. How hard would it be to have connectivity between the game and pandora/spotify?
