Battlefield 2042 is getting **** on, and for good reason. Call of Duty Vanguard has seemingly flopped. But the real story here is that Halo Infinite seems to be performing well below expectations as well. Let's take a look at its performance on Steam...

Currently sitting at #20 and steadily losing players despite only being out two weeks at this point. Halo stands out in particular because, unlike the other two shooters, Infinite has recieved unanimous and glowing praise from critics and message board types alike.

Defenders of Halo will likely say two things to explain the hemorrhaging of players.

1. The Battle Pass was such a turn off that gamers stopped playing until the issue is fixed.

Reality: This is bullox. We've seen numerous multiplayer games release over the last 5 years sans Battle Pass and the communies skyrocket regardless. Gamers don't play games because of cosmetics.

2. There are too many cheaters ruining people's experience in Halo Infinite.

Reality: There's no data to suggest there's any more or less cheats playing Halo Infinite than any other F2P game launch. Cheaters flock to all big F2P releases and the reality is Microsoft + 343 have more resources to deal with them than most.

So what is happening? Why are players dropping Halo Infinite (and BF2042 + CoD Vanguard) so quickly? If it's not bugs, Battle Passes, and cheaters, what could possibly be the reason players are leaving in 2021?

Yesterday at 9:09PM EST. It's not bleeding anything. It's sustaining, consistently in the top most played on Steam, and killing on Xbox. Halo seems more American centric, so it grows most as people are getting off work etc.

Even that is misleading as its daily peak has dropped quite significantly over the last two weeks.

It's still doing great in N. America during peak hours but the overall trend is on a pretty drastic downward slope. Remember, honeymoon periods are typically months long, not weeks.

Lol /end thread

I wonder if this hits 500k concurrent when the campaign drops.

Xmas will be huge too for concurrent players.
