GAF Customs dude. DMR starts.

They were trying to DMR me across Wayont (pretty sure it was Wayont), I think it was the game where Frankie splattered me on a mongoose while cycling on his recumbent exerbike.
LOL
I knew there was a reason I don't play customs anymore.

It was my fault, I was in the party and didn't have any of the DLC maps, so they were relegated to shitty forge maps until I left. I have Defiant now, thanks to David Ellis, but I haven't played much Reach lately.

This phrase makes me crack up each time I see it

Why don't you just go buy Halo 2 Vista? Play with KBAM and you get no aim assist or magnetism.

If people wanted an increased so-called "skill gap", then Perfect Dark's no-autoaim playlist would be chock full of players. It's pretty much had no population since it came out. It's cool if you can land shots with no aim assist and no aim friction (which Halo 1 had, in spades), but the majority of the console userbase wouldn't be playing an FPS at all without it.

Decrease magnetism /=/ Remove magnetism.

Anyways strafing in Halo 3 allowed you to out maneuver a lesser skilled opponent in a gunfight, aswell as get away from grenades. You being able you dodge a few bullets in a custom ctf game and bringing up perfect dark is not some kind of proof. I've been holding off saying anything because you don't give up. Since you like to so adamantly insist your opinions are somehow fact, I'll do the same. Halo 3 > Reach

Somewhat unrelated, but I was just thinking - I wish the opening cinematic for Reach had a few shots of the planet BEFORE the Covenant wrecked it.

- Space/planet shot.
- Sunrise.
- Split mountain/heat wave.
- Cracked helmet.
- R E A C H
- Noble Six holding intact helmet, puts it on. Warthogs and Falcons fly into distance.
- Civilians milling about New Alexandria, Exodus areas. Lots of people going about their business as usual.
- Farmers loading hay bales onto vehicles in the Winter Contingency areas.
- Civilian operating a forklift in front of an undamaged Sword Base, moving crates around.
- Workers taking a lunch break at the Boneyard area.

- Cut back to Noble Six's Warthog arriving at the outpost, cinematic finishes as normal.

I just feel like the Halo games have always underutilized the contrast that you would get from showing human environments under normal conditions.

What if ODST had presented a quick view of a heavily populated New Mombasa before Regret's forces arrived? It would have made the quiet abandoned city more jarring as you wander around alone in the rain. We got a taste of how the city must have been during the evacuation from Sadie's story, but you had to search for that and I think you'd get more of an emotional contrast from actually seeing a normal New Mombasa before shit hits the fan.

I really agree with this. It is kind of what I expected from Reach and what I was let down with. Halo games have had a really tough time showing the human drama and tragedy. Every game I have wanted this and every time I have left disappointed. Halo 4 wont have this opportunity but I hope they deliver story more comprehensively and give us something to care about.

The problem with the Banshee is that it can flip for an indefinite amount of time without having to recharge and that it is incredibly difficult to hit while doing so. Doubling damage during the flips would shorten its life, sure, but it wouldn't make it a less annoying vehicle to fight in that time it's in the air. Make the flips take up boost meter. A lot of boost meter. Then only let the fuel rod fire when fully locked to vehicles. To compensate, boost Banshee health. Now people would have to switch back and forth from its two weapons, and it would still serve its purpose as a harassment and anti-vehicle element.

I agree about the flips, but I think they should just be slowed down but separate from boost. None the less, they need a cool-down for the flips when used in succession. They shouldn't feel like a tank in the sky entirely and still should be fun to fly. If you could still flip slightly rapidly and freely but be easier to hit than before and take 2x damage while flipping it would be much more balanced IMO. I dont agree about only allowing the fuel rod to shoot at vehicles though. I think what would works is if they largely reduced the damage radius of the blast and only have direct hits kill instantly. Slow down how quickly it can shoot slightly and over all it would be much more fair.

Well for one, you're the one here stating my opinions as fact.

Secondly, it is related in that the community demanded and clamored for a no autoaim playlist in PDXBLA, MS added it in a title update, and whoops turns out that a hardcore enviroment in a game begets hardcore population.

You drop it too much in Reach(like they already have from 2) and it'll about as fun as trying to shoot teammates online. Make it too easy and you have the iron grip of the Halo 2 BR's unzoomed reticule.

I am glad BigShow is here to argue the finer points of Halo CE MP. He is an OG MLG forums member and Halo CE player, and I pretty much agree with him on everything about Halo MP as a franchise.

My head was starting to hurt from some of the stuff FyreWulff was saying about Halo CE MP. Strafing being a waste of time and getting kills with the Halo 1 Pistol not being rewarding as the prime examples.

I also think Halo 2 is bad, just better than H3 and Reach. Compared to Halo CE though, game is a piece of shit. Cool maps though.

Woah What!

LOL ive been skipping the huge posts because im so tired but I just read the bolded. I dont want to comment without actually going through and reading the whole conversation and I dont actually want to read the whole conversation at the moment but wow!.

So at face value. Woah what Fyrewulff you so crazy! I know we enjoy totally different stuff in terms of Halo, but I didnt know you where that wrong. :p

Since you ignored it before, I'll say it again. Battlefield Bad Company 2 has no aim assist and it's plenty fun and a lot of people play it.

Was I was stating your opinions were fact or fast? How about neither.

I didn't realize the Halo Reach community was begging for no autoaim... I was pointing out you put words in somebody elses mouth, as you went on a rant about removing autoaim when they only suggested reducing magnetism a bit to compliment bloom reduction.

Also um, off topic but for my senior project we need to pick 3 possible companies to rebrand. Do you think any particular gaming companies need one? Or would you like to see one rebranded? And which one?

I need something techy I think to round out my protfolio, it's mostly food and nature right now.

I already got some suggestions such as HP and Activision (which is in dire need of some distancing from their money grubbing bad PR shit). Anyone else wanna suggest something? It can be anything you find particularly ugly and or just want to see a fresh take on.

Rare, Crapcom or EA

Are you talking about Halo 3 grenades or the grenades from that video? I'm not saying I want everything about Halo 3's nades back, but I do want to play with those ones we were shown that actually bounce.

Nintendo and Capcom are the only ones I think really need to change their approach. Other than small companies in Japan like GUST and Namco. Yeah, I just pile Namco in beside GUST.

So Halo 2 or Halo 3 ones. I wouldn't mind Reach's if the fuse were longer.

Is this really true? I've heard several times before that every console FPS has some degree of aim assist because its near impossible to fully aim for yourself. Perhaps its just much lower in that game?

Same. The power on them is pretty nice, I just wish the fuse was about 1 second longer.

I'm pretty sure it does have a bit of aim assist. Maybe in form of bullet magnetism rather than reticule magetism.
Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising supposedly does not contain any aim assist on consoles and it is certainly way harder to aim in it than in any other game i've played on consoles, and i don't think aiming BFBC2 is as hard as OFPDR.

Basically. I want to be able to use nades tactically again, instead of "oh shit I'm dying press L to get the other guy"

As far as I can tell yes. It feels really weird to be honest. Quickscoping with a sniper is actually balanced though.

Tashi, I found the stickers, the gamepad one is mildly wrinkled, but the Bioshock one is mint. To be honest though, after reading your posts about liking bloom and AA's, I almost made a video of me ripping them up.
