Did you read the latest update notes? They reduced the frequency of BR starts. Check this post out, six matches without even an option to vote for something with a BR start:

"Updated voting options across multiple playlists to improve the balance of appearance of BR-start and objective game types."

Holy shit you're right. They don't specify its increase/decrease.

I assume balance should mean the voting options are BR start, AR start, and Objective. That's what balance is to me.
ideal balance is BR start everywhere

Henery's post could have been before patch though. Don't know.

EDIT: For the uninformed masses, for the record, Bungie themselves admitted that Objective gametypes should be BR start. In Reach or Halo 3, I forget, they changed Team Objective to be BR start only.

For Halo 3, they just renamed Team Throwback to Social Skirmish and deleted the original Social Skirmish.

I still hate that decision, because Social Skirmish lost a shit-ton of it's variety with that move.

Reach ended up with Flag Slayer down the line, and it was a first slot option, so Objective literally became Slayer DMR.

Halo 3 is the last remaining Halo title to have a pure Objective playlist.

Sounds like you're getting donged on bro

Oh there's a bit of that.

But there's also a bit of this...

and a whole load of this...

My point is quite simply SWAT is the gametype that generally attracts these users, as they start with the hitscan weapons!

PS. As a (ex) PC gamer myself, I would have one in a heartbeat if it wasn't for the fact that a) its bloody expensive, and b) too much hassle given my xbox is in the living room.

Those devices emulate using a controller, so you still have awful horizontal and vertical acceleration and all sorts of wonkiness. I've used them a few times. Unless you absolutely can't use a controller, they're more of a handicap than anything else.

Plus I would wager the number of people using them is extremely, extremely small.

The Xim product is way more sophisticated than other similar/older products, and uses smart translaters (configured on a PER game basis) that help emulate a 1-1 transition between mouse movement and crosshair movement. You move your mouse in a circle, you get the same circle on the screen.

They are very VERY good. Don't believe me? Read the forums, look at the videos. I have seen one in action. The difference it makes to your game in fast moving shooters (like Halo SWAT), providing you can use a mouse and keyboard of course, is ridiculous. They are complete game changers.

Mouse & Keyboard me would hammer controller me, and I am fairly comfortable with a controller.

Like you say, I do hope they number of people using them is small. But the paranoid guy in me knows that people are buying them to dish out beatings, and are therefore attracted to certain games...

Anyway, get bloody BTB fixed. I am missing this badly and have managed exactly zero games in it since MCC release.

Just played my first game of Swat and I rage quit. Halo 4 pitfall, 5v4. Some of the worst spawns I've ever seen in Halo. Just wow.

The quicker 343 penalize quiters the better, just back off and play support for your team if your suffering. This isn't cod, no one is coming to replace you. Its my worst bug bear at the moment, it spoiled the original halo 2 and 3 and I don't want it to be common place in the MCC.

The only thing I hate about SWAT in Halo 4 is the majority of players use the DMR. I prefer using the Battle Rifle and do use it unless 2/3 of the enemy team are using the DMR.

Well, since I didn't get the achievement for shutdown I didn't get the achievements for completing all the halo games on heroic or the achievements for beating Halo 4. Awesome!

Is halo 3, idk, slower than the others?

Everytime i play it i like it less and less and it just feels like a slog compared to halo 2 and obviously 4. And the sounds of the guns sound so soft. H2A and H4 have such PUNCH behind the weapon sounds i love it.

Go grab one off of the map? AR starts is just an extra tier of weapon control.

AR/Duals -> BR/Carbine -> Power Weapons. It's not bad unless the other team is in complete control. Then you've got to coordinate a big push.

Well, there are some maps where BRs are pretty difficult to come by. Think there are only two on Blackout and maybe two on Guardian. So, that's not always an option. And running at each other with AR's blaring and then dual beating each other down is not a fun way to play.

Not all maps are good for AR starts, I agree with that. But I disagree that AR starts = spray and melee gameplay. That's just how some people play and it's easy to avoid/counter.

Man, 343 is stupid.

And lol to the two of you.

God people like you are fucking annoying. I never said I prefer AR starts. I'm just saying it adds a layer of gameplay. It's not PREFERRED for Halo 3 since the AR is abysmal, but acting like it ruins the whole playlist is being a whiny little bitch.
