On Nov. 11, the next step in the Halo journey begins with the release of Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Halo: Nightfall. In the days prior, Microsoft and 343 Industries invite fans to join the celebration as they broadcast special sneak peeks, interviews and exclusive gameplay to the world on Xbox Live, Xbox.com and Twitch – including the first look at the Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta and the world premiere of the first episode of Halo: Nightfall.

HaloFest: A Celebration Fit for a Spartan
Halo: The Master Chief Collection is Microsoft and 343 Industries’ tribute to longtime fans, the culmination of more than 13 years of storytelling, adventure and gameplay. For the first HaloFest, 343 built a living museum of Halo history, but this time, the history is encapsulated in its purest form, the Master Chief’s epic saga. So this year, in celebration of those memories and the future that lies ahead, Halo will take over the Avalon Theatre in Los Angeles on Nov. 10, the day before Halo: The Master Chief Collection arrives worldwide.

Fans all over the world are invited to join the festivities via a live broadcast on Xbox Live, Xbox.com and Twitch, beginning at 8 p.m. PT. Tune in to the HaloFest Livestream to see:

First look at Halo 5: Guardians. Fans will have a chance to experience the Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta before its release on Dec. 29. An exhibition match between eSports pros will provide a first glimpse at the future of Halo multiplayer gameplay.
World premiere of Halo: Nightfall. The evolution of Halo storytelling continues with the debut of Halo: Nightfall. Watch the first episode of this original live-action digital series, which introduces Agent Locke – a pivotal new character in Halo 5: Guardians. Halo: Nightfall is the result of an unprecedented collaboration with industry talents like Ridley Scott and Sergio Mimica-Gezzan, who worked hand-in-hand with 343 Industries to raise the bar for live-action storytelling in the Halo universe.
Interviews with 343 Industries and more. Hear from Head of 343 Industries Bonnie Ross, Franchise Development Director Frank O’Connor, Executive Producer Dan Ayoub, Executive Producer Josh Holmes and others as they talk about the past, present and future of the Halo universe. Additionally, get the latest details on Halo: Nightfall directly from 343 Executive Producer Kiki Wolfkill, the cast and production team, and hear from celebrity Halo fans walking the green carpet at the Avalon Theatre.
The global Halo Tournament. On Nov. 8-9, the Halo: The Master Chief Collection Launch Invitational, presented by ESL, will feature 32 of the biggest names in eSports going toe-to-toe in Halo 2: Anniversary multiplayer for $50,000 in prizes and the chance to be the first to play the Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta. The competition will take place at ESL’s Southern California headquarters, and all coverage will be streamed at Twitch.tv/Halo on Nov. 8-9, with additional highlights airing during the HaloFest live broadcast on Nov. 10.

Crazy that multiplayer's getting this type of exposure a full year before release.

This should bode well for its quality.

Aw, the title made me think this was something I could physically go to, not just watch. Oh well, I'll still be watching.

There are millions of whiny 5-year olds on Earth, and I AM THEIR KING.
I love all this by fan service by Microsoft. Super hyped for the Master Chief Collection.

Fuck, I could make the trip to LA....

YES PLEASE!

I love how open they're being with Halo 5. A beta so far in advance of the release is a great sign IMO.

Also, Halo Nightfall looks excellent. Really looking forward to that too.

Pumped to see some Halo 5 multi! The game is supposed to release next fall right? Seems really early for a beta. Regardless, that can't be a bad thing, this will give 343 tons of time to absorb player feedback.

I like that it's before the release so I have something to do, I really hope there is a walmart/gamestop tournament so I can get my free copy

I understand it is Halo after all, but can we stop the trend of exhibiting future games preemptively with professional eSports players?

I'm all for these leagues popping up once the game is out, but it's just a shoehorned marketing tactic pre-release. Let alone, game reveal.

Fair point but would you rather watch pros play the game or journalists?

The idea is to show halo in its best light which happens when being played by the best players.

4am in France, I think (we're changing timezones this week-end, so I'm a bit lost on the exact time). That's late...

Hope it's good :-D.

Will be nice to see what they're really going for with Halo 5, life that curtain a bit.
Not showing a Halo 5 Guardians (Campaign) trailer would be a bit of a missed hype opportunity I think*, but maybe they want to save that for the VGAs or its ilk.

*I say this as I don't think competitive shooters make for the most marketable trailers, while Campaign content tends to.

It says beta also since it's coming after mcc. VGA's definitely has to have a Campaign teaser trailer just like with Halo Reach in 2009

You know you can't really judge it fairly based off past history. Remember the first showings of Halo 4 were stripped down real gameplay without all the crap aka armor abilities added. It was very misleading that for the longest time that's what we saw. So yea I'm not falling for it this time. I'm waiting to see what the real multiplayer will play like at release or at least close to it when the entire thing is shown with all of the "features" in play..
