Happy Action Theater sequel (Quick Look video by Giant Bomb)

The fact that you say "Hey Television" instead of "Xbox" to wake up the voice control is fantastic by itself. Other Kinect developers, please steal this and make it the standard for the platform moving forward.

Looks fantastic. The first game was so much fun, having an import feature as well as photo sharing is exactly what was needed in a sequel. As well as even more insane "games" of course. Also impressively smooth tracking on so many people without the need for calibration, set-up or anything like that and there appears to be little lag too which is great.

How can this game be so technically good when other Kinect games aren't? I thought the Kinect just wasn't that accurate or perhaps that the APIs Microsoft has made weren't that good, which would be weird because that's what Microsoft does best. But then you see this game.

Is it literally just that other developers don't put in enough time? I guess no other developer really takes the Kinect seriously enough to put their best effort into it, but even so it seems that there might be problems with the API or accuracy of the hardware that takes some effort to solve which not many devs are willing to do. Because this game is leaps and bounds above the rest on a technical level which is pretty unusual to see.

From memory, they're using some alternate method of skeleton tracking that wouldn't work for most other 'fully-fledged' games but that is awesome for their purposes

I guess it's a combination of them putting in the effort, and it probably helps that there's not that much to the actual game.

The main technical difference between what this game does and what the default API allows is the number of simultaneous players ; the MS SDK allows you to do with 2 players what this games does with 6. Anybody claiming that kinect is not accurate or the API isn't good just doesn't know what he's talking about (not against you, but it's a false idea that spreads around).
Developers of kinect games usually don't struggle with the body tracking, but with gesture recognition and ways to use them ingame. The tracking itself isn't a problem.

Can someone please GIF Chris Remo punching himself at around 22:30? Would be so useful in Idle Thumb threads.

I fucking lost it so hard during the Dub Step, holy shit.

I thought the previous game felt a bit more fun (atleast the quick look) but holy shit. THE DROP. THE DUB STEP.
