You don't care that the results are possibly inaccurate due to the way they're obtained. You're too caught up in a "win" to realize that objectively that table shown isn't valid in any light, it's just a waste of space due to the testing methodology.
Objectively the results are worthless. I guess subjectively they're EVERYTHING!

Hey like I said, if I was wrong on this I'd be the first to owe up to it and that's what I'm gonna do here. They measured lower memory operating temps, their method is sound, I'm cool with that.I think we need a house analogy to @MrFunSocks and a short novel about swirling winds tothicc_girls_are_teh_best so they understand how wrong they were.
I'm still waiting for Digital Foundry and Gamers Nexus tests for absolute closure but I'm a man of my word. I might have potentially been wrong to worry on operational longevity for certain components, if these new results are anything to go by and can be backed up by other sources with their tests.
If and when those sources can also confirm, I'll come and say I was flat-out wrong on this. But for now, you have my curiosity.

I'm definitely going to watch the second video and see if the tests were done a lot better. I'm reading good things though and im happy that he did another test instead of just complaining about the criticism. Shows some integrity in my opinion.

They put sensors in much better places and only tested the new. Compared results with GN results using a totally different testing method and game.

Glad he compared it to the Gamer nexus results and used the same probe placements. I feel much better about these tests. Though he should used the same astro bot test just to be sure.
The RAM results give me pause though. Sony did NOT include any thermal padding on the ram chips so why are they so low in temps? Was the old design not making sufficient contact with the heatspreader?

They added more sensors. In between the heatsink and the main SOC. They basically placed the probes in the same exact spot Gamer Nexus did all those months ago. And found better temps.

I don't mind what Igor did, much better than what he did on the 1st place - but his method is indeed different from GN's.
For starters, he used high quality thermal paste & plastered all over the VRAM. Not sure if he "removed" the existing thermal putty - on some places there are both.
Please don't tell me that thermal paste don't affect cooling capacity - then why in the world would PS5 need good thermal medium like liquid metal?
Wish he didn't use such and stayed as stock as possible to get rid of any oversight or difference.
And that's why, I can't really say anything in comparison to GN, and he should have used same method to test the OLD PS5 to PROVE that new one is better.

The problem was NEVER who had done the "testing", the problem was always the test itself.
Gamer Nexus will use the same methodology, will make the same tests, with the same equipment (DF gave a console to GN to do the test).
So people still waiting for an "authority" of "their trust", DEAL WITH IT!
You guys have NOTHING, fucking nothing to attack that price of shit toy! Even if it was in fact hotter the difference would be negligible in practice.
Just a reminder that Gamer Nexus had tested the version 1.0 and this new unit is the version 1.2.

Great point. Different game alone can result in more than 5C higher/lower temp with all of the rest conditions being identical.

With that said I believe he debunked any worries that the new PS5 might become a fire hazard or that it will suffer from thermal throttling. So for me there isn't anything that I have to worry about with the new model.
However some additional tests from Gamers Nexus and Digital Foundry would be nice to see. Just in case Hardware Busters manipulated the results or have faulty testing equipment.

I just saw some comments from them on YouTube and they are listening to the criticism on the new video. Definitely a chance that they will release another video on this.
Honestly I'm pretty impressed with how the channel is interacting with the people that criticize them.
