Nothing. I just pulled random numbers out of my ass. Do you honestly expect proper business analytical attempts? Its a gaming forum, lower your expectations. Ten fold.
No, I just expect common sense.

Bumpage for "did I miss the Febuary NPD or something"? I don't think I've seen the thread pop, is SonyCowboy in distress?

However, Divnich added that the PS3’s 10-year support cycle will allow the console much opportunity, despite short-term concerns.
What a strange statement. Simply saying ten years of support will happen doesn't mean it will when the market ultimately decides what kind of active lifespan and support a platform will have against anything the manufacturer intends. Definitely a way of adding a light to the end of dark and winding tunnel that seems to only head deeper into the earth, IMO.

Gamasutra.
NPD delayed as they were making improvements to their system. Partners were notified a few weeks ago.

Code:
System	Me	Actual	Delta
NDS	610	588	22
PSP	175	199	24
PS3	243	276	33
PS2	92	131	39
WII	812	753	59
360	317	391	74

I did better than most months; at least I didn't blow anything by 100k+ like usual. The 360 is the one that really surprised me. I thought 300k was reasonable, though I didn't know how the economy would hit things. Near 400k? Very impressive.

Wouldn't scoring in this 'game' make more sense in terms of percentages? 1% difference in november and december is not the same as 1% difference in july.. It would be nice to have an "alternate" scoring method :)

That's the biggest part of the "points" method. You'll notice the points rankings don't always match with the one that shows purely how close people were in overall units.
http://www.angelfire.com/planet/donny2112/NeoGAF/points_main.html
Point System:

1. Correct hardware rankings - 10 pts.

2. 20 points * (percentage of correct units for hardware system); anything over 100% difference = 0 points. Maximum points: 120

3. Bonus points for finishing in the top 10 by units for the month:
#1 - 17 points
#2 - 13 points
#3 - 11 points
#4 - 9 points
#5 - 7 points
#6 - 5 points
#7 - 4 points
#8 - 3 points
#9 - 2 points
#10 - 1 point

Looking at some past results, 8 people in July 2007 got more points than the #1 person in December 2007.
