I was spending too much money on games (thanks to Cheap Ass Gamer and Amazon)... I have a decent job, but still, I was spending too much money, so I decided to go to BioLife Plasma Services.

I have been donating plasma since last year. They gave this Visa Debit Card and that's what I'm using to purchase my games... I receive $60 per week (plus an extra $20 every 7th donation) and I think it's a good limit for my gaming purchases. Plus, I'm helping people by donating plasma.

And $60 per week ($80 with the bonus) + Cheap Ass Gamer tips = A lot of good games.

And this way, I have been saving a lot of money earned with my job.

If you need to save money for any reason, you should consider donating plasma. Plus, you are helping people too.

I used to do that a long time ago. Go sell my plasma then go buy something at the mall. They gave us cash though.

I usually get 3 $20 games... or a new game per week.

But like I said, I use CAG a lot. I have almost 600 retail games so far. Not a very big collection, but it's decent.

The BioLife Center I go it's extremely clean, very modern. It's in downtown and not in a bad neighborhood.

And so far, I haven't had any negative health problems. My veins are fine.

Oh, believe me. I was spending more than that. But I'm getting married this year, and me and my girlfriend are paying the wedding alone.

Can I donate sperm instead?

I have a high IQ and am reasonably good looking...don't some places pay money for that type of stuff?

I trade games which is a viable alternative, or if you play that much, might as well get gamefly.

And $60 per week in games is great for buying older games.

Currently I'm buying all those compilations discs for the Wii and 360. This is in my Cart right now and I will pay all by tomorrow with the money from the Plasma donation.

I save money on buying games by only buying a game after i have finished the last I bought. It's worked out well so far since my backlog of games I never finish is huge.

I'm guilty of that too. I think I have like 500 unfinished games (no kidding).

If they did this in the UK, I would not have any plasma left, but I'd had a bunch of new sneakers.

Also I can't give blood because I lived in eastern Europe for a while and I guess the Red Cross doesn't like that. But it doesn't look like the plasma people care as much? I can't really find requirements anywhere.

I thought I bought a lot of games and I maybe buy one a month. Lately it's been about three months between purchases though so I've gotten better. No new $60 games though. Ever.

How about not purchasing a game that you are not going to play? Or not purchasing a game untill you finish what you have or how about trades or how about renting $20 is unlimited renting isn't it? you can donate kidny and probably get games for life though

I'm of the mind that if you have to sell blood or plasma in order to support a habit you need to get your priorities in order.

What if your habit is drinking plasma?

Holy shit that's a lot on games. Not to be too negative, but if you've got to resort to selling plasma to afford your video game habit, maybe you should look into alternatives. That right there has all the markings of a good ol' fashioned addiction.

Uh, congratulations on the wedding though!

I'm so confused: people pay for your blood? And let you donate once per week? WTF?

I've given blood before, but all I got out of it was some snack crackers and smug satisfaction. And I'm pretty sure they said not to give again for a month at least....

This is going to sound crazy but I'll say it anyway: How about buying a new game only after finishing one?

unless you're saving them up for when you retire and have all the time you need to play them, but by then you'll be old and your fingers will be arthritic.

Or maybe you plan on passing them on to your children?

60*52=3120 a year for normal edition
80*52=4160 a year for special edition

That is a little too much. You should not sell your plasma to buy games. Wrong priorities dude.

They're just taking part of your blood... your tiger's blood, if you like... and leaving you a little light-headed and SIXTY DOLLARS RICHER. It's a steal! For them anyway.

Plasma is a component of what most people consider blood. Think about it like someone taking some of the water out of a kool-aid mix so then there is the same kool-aid powder in less water. Then you slowly add more water until you're back to a normal mix again over 2 days.

The first time you go, they do a full physical exam. It takes a few hours.

The full physical exam is just for the first time you go. Next time you go, yu scan your fingerprint and then you answer some questions in a touchscreen computer. The questions are like: Did you get a tattoo in the past week... Did you donate blood last week... and things like that.

Then, they take your temperature, weigh, pulse, blood pressure... then they pinch your finger and take a drop of your blood and they check your iron and protein levels. You need to have a good health to be able to donate.

Getting a game every week is way too much for me. I dont even feel like there are that many great games that are released every year.
