If they make it to season 3, that'd be enough to satisfy me.

Brian Fellows said:The real question is who is gonna play Hodor?
Brian Fellows said:No he is definitely not a redhead. If he were they wouldnt make such a big deal about how Rob and Sansa look so much like their mom with their auburn hair. Jon and Arya both have have dark hair and they are the ones that are supposed to look just like him.
Brian Fellows said:The real question is who is gonna play Hodor?
No, he looks like Lyanna, Ned's sister.bonesmccoy said:Ah, of course. ButJon supposedly looks like Lyssa!
StoOgE said:Is the guy playing Robert the one that had that sitcom a few years ago where he had a smoking hot wife, ginger daughter and nerdy son?
whytemyke said:Ok guys, my next great casting decision that HBO should listen to but won't--
Stannis Baratheon played by Ian McShane.
eh? eh?! awesome, right? i knew it. plus after Deadwood and now Kings... he should be cheap. AND you can just throw some gray in his hair to add a bit more years to him.
fo realz yo. what else is the guy doing? he'd be awesome playing that hardass, seafaring stannis type figure.Brian Fellows said:I'm just going to assume that is a joke.
Old Lace said:Yup. The show was called Still Standing. It was terrible.

i can't imagine his dance card is full. last film i saw him in was death race. plus it's not like stannis even plays a role in the first season so they could wait a bit and just cast him for S2 if it gets picked up and use their (story spoilers ahead)money on him!sean bean
I could have sworn that Stannis was Robert's older brother.... that Robert was the middle child.Brian Fellows said:He's twice as old as the character and 20 years older than the guy who would be playing his older brother and he looks his age. Not to mention Stannis is a character with no personality. It would be a waste of his talent on top of being unrealistic.
I'd love to see him in the series but not as Stannis.
whytemyke said:I could have sworn that Stannis was Robert's older brother.... that Robert was the middle child.
Yeah, if I'm wrong on that then no Mcshane as Stannis.![]()

Works for me, great choice.
Also, sources inform me that a Google Image search may or may not bring up her boobs.
http://grrm.livejournal.com/Hiya, kids, hiya, hiya, hiya.
I know some cool stuff.
You don't.
And I can't tell you yet.
(Yes, I am a monster of inhuman cruelty).
Well, maybe I'll let slip a few things at the Montreal worldcon. Or maybe not. You'll have to ply me with booze and plunk my magic twanger, and we'll see.
Off on Tuesday...
Could be, I bet he's a huge fan of the sorts of English period dramas she's in. Some people were saying that the 'hiya kids, hiya hiya hiya' might mean the remaining four Stark kids are cast too.PhoenixDark said:Interesting. Is this what George hinted at a couple days ago?
snaildog said:GRRM confirmed it on his blog and says there's more to come.
There was talk about Gillian Anderson as Catelyn, but I like the way they're going, with good solid actors that look the part yet aren't too recognisable. Plus we have Sean Fucking Bean, that's enough star power.
I'm pretty confident that we'll get the first season at least. Since they've approved the pilot, it'll be coming down to quality rather than popularity. Game of Thrones has quite nice story arc resolutions - moreso than the later books - so even if we only get Season 1 it'll be awesome.
According to GRRM's editor Anne Groell at Comic-Con, ADWD has passed the 'pagecount' of 1,000 pages. Whether this refers to pages as they will appear in the novel or the manuscript page count is unclear. For comparison purposes, AGoT and AFFC were both around 1,100 MS pages in length, ACoK was about 1,300 and ASoS was over 1,500. She confirmed that the book should appear next year in the USA.
http://asoiaf.westeros.org/index.php?showtopic=5960Shawn Speaksman said:That's correct. I talked to Anne at length about it... well... because I was standing right next to her for most of the convention as she answered that question over and over and over again.
George has indeed passed the 1000 page mark as of last week and those are, to him according to Anne, finished pages that will not be returned to. He also has several hundred more pages of not completed chapters that every week he makes progress on. Some of those will be in Dance; others will be in the next book. Anne also thinks she'll be getting the book by October or November, which to her would probably make it a February or March 2010 release, although the progress he is making is quickly happening and she could receive it sooner if those incomplete or mostly complete chapters come together faster. I say don't get your hopes up.
So good things are happening. Maybe not fast enough for some of you but fast enough for moi. It just shows that yes he is working on the book despite what some people on the internet(s) say.
http://grrm.livejournal.com/Well, the HOLLYWOOD REPORTER has spoiled part of my fun. How can I properly torment my readers if they're going to go around printing the news?
Fortunately, even HOLLYWOOD REPORTER doesn't know all the cool stuff I know, so I will still be able to smile engimatically and drop sly hints in Montreal.
(I'll be good, I will, I will).
I'm off tomorrow. See you there.

Flawless cast, so far.
bengraven said:Like I said in the other thread, she's 10 years younger than Sean Bean, but looks 10 years older. I don't know, I expected someone glamorously beautiful I suppose.
That said, her acting abilities are very much on par and I approve.

Brian Fellows said:That's kind of a good thing for me since I always thought Catelyn was a little bit older than Ned. But according to the books wiki page timeline she is a year younger.

Manics said:Doesn't matter how good they make the series it'll come down to ratings. If enough geeks like us can watch the show they'll make it a series. Hopefully it draws good numbers, sounds like they approaching it correctly and it can be a great series. Casting so far has been fantastic.
DeathNote said:When is the pilot going to air? I'll need to add HBO.
Decado said:Has HBO ordered a full season?
Yes, three more roles have been cast for the GAME OF THRONES pilot, as David Benioff and Dan Weiss announced over on Westeros.
No, I can't tell you who they are. HBO will make the announcements in due time, I'm sure. When? I don't know. Tomorrow, next week, next month. They don't consult with me. As I write this, I am aware of five parts that have been cast but not yet announced, but there could well be more. Things are moving quickly now. And of course, casting a role is not just a matter of picking an actor. Even after you decide who you want, there are offers and counter-offers, contract negotiations, a whole delicate dance that goes on. It is never wise to leak things prematurely. Sometimes that can actually throw a monkey wrench into the process.
I'm excited about the choices, though.
What can I say? Not much.
Maybe a few hints...
The five roles... well, we have cast Jaime Lannister and Theon Greyjoy, I let that slip in Montreal... the three new ones are all females. A couple small roles, but very important ones. One player has something in common with Ned. One has something in common with Harry Potter. One is not a boney pop singer. Shows can get cancelled and so can characters, but two of them have been seen on American tv recently.
And that's all you're getting from me, until HBO blows the trumpet.
One more part has been cast.
Can't tell you about that one either.
Uncle said:They really are hyping the shit out of this pilot, aren't they?
No way. I bet it's the girl who plays Ginny. Imagine her playing Sansa (somehow... age would be whack)Saya said:Emma Watson as Sansa?
