After spending many hours playing the game this weekend and earning almost every trophy and challenge in just the tutorial and Paris, I concede that this may end up as my GotY. Shameful if many award sites sleep on this when deliberating selections.

Is it really that good? I'm trying to buy it on PSN, but can't fill my wallet because of 3D Secure failure, damn. I guess I have to buy some gift cards then.

Btw, is the unlocked framerate option available on OG PS4 also? Only played the demo on OG (where I find it to run pretty sloppy) but it seems to run really smooth on Pro. Looks great too.

One thing I noticed is texture streaming is faster than before on PS4. Now the bar code loads instantly.

And completed opportunities got check mark like the challenges レ.

November Update Release Notes

General Improvements

Offline Profile
All unlockable items that are earned when connected to the game's servers, are now also saved to an 'offline profile', meaning that they can be used when in Offline Mode.
Items include all mastery items; including weapons, gear, starting/pickup locations as well as Elusive Target suit rewards and Challenge Pack unlocks.
Note: You must be connected to the game servers in order to acquire new unlocks.

Stability Sweep
Fixed different issues across all locations that previously resulted in the game crashing or becoming unstable.
Opportunity Completion Checkmark

We've added functionality to mark an opportunity with a checkmark when it has been successfully completed, similar to how we show that a challenge has been completed.
This will show you the completed opportunities at-a-glance and make it easier to track completion when trying to achieve the achievements/trophies linked to opportunities.

Silent Assassin Rating Display
The scoring screen now displays "Silent Assassin" when a player completes a mission with that rating.

Major Update to Statistics Page
The 'Statistics' page has been overhauled with a new visual design that displays the challenge completion, mastery level completion and overall location completion.

Pause Menu
We've changed the background of the pause menu to be the current in-game moment, rather than the world map.

Mission Accomplished Screen Update
When successfully completing a mission, the mission accomplished screen will now show the last frame of the exit sequence, rather than fading to black.

Contracts Mode 'Success State'
After playing a Contract, the menu will now show either a checkmark (complete) or a cross (fail) to show your status for the Contract.

Improved consistency for Elusive Targets Challenge Images
The Elusive Targets Challenges now have a more consistent style.

New IOI logo
We have a new studio logo, and now that's in the game.

Challenge Completed SFX
We added a subtle sound effect that plays when unlocking a challenge.

Sarajevo Six Briefings [PS4 Only]
Briefings videos for The Mercenary and The Controller have been added to the game.

Pull an Enemy
In this update, we've added the ability for 47 to pull people over balconies or out of windows, when he is hanging on a ledge or below the balcony/window.
Unfortunately, there is a known issue for this move: NPC's that see this move will not blame 47, even if they are looking directly at the NPC or at 47.
For that reason, we will remove this ability with our December Update and fix this. It will then be re-introduced with a game update in January, around the same time as the disc release.

Next Update
As we mentioned at the start of this blog post, we are also planning a December Update, which we are very excited about as it will wrap up the year nicely and will be a great way for us to wish all of our players a happy holiday season. We'll have specifics to share as we get a little bit further into December.

November Content Schedule
Elusive Targets, Escalation Contracts, Featured Contracts and Challenge Packs are all in the pipeline and to give you an idea of our plans at this stage, the November Content Schedule shows everything that is coming throughout the month. As we get into December, we'll have a new content schedule. Look for that next week.

After doing a lot of Marrakesh I've been having some sound stuttering issues. This has been happening a bit in other games ever since I started running SLI, but nowhere near as bad as Hitman. Upgrading from a 2500k to a 6700k (and a motherboard with pcie 3.0 instead of 2.0) sometime between tonight and Thursday though. Hopefully that deals with it, I hear this game is CPU-heavy.

For the general, yes, what you guessed is exactly what would have happened next. So you can do it both ways (and there's a challenge for the other option).

As for the cameraman, the guy with food poisoning is not in the level because he's out of commission - you need to look for the cameraman they hired to replace him. There is another conversation elsewhere that will tell you exactly where he is.

Spoilers for the answer:
He starts outside the shisha cafe, then goes inside and stays there. You basically have to make a secondary infiltration into the cafe before the primary consulate infiltration.

Hah. I just saw this post even though I'd found him already, I had unlocked that starting point and just tried it out to see what was in there. Lo and behold the guy I'm looking for just strolls past me 3 seconds later (I wasn't 100% sure it was him, but there's always the good old shoot em in the face, check the disguise name, and reload).

I also have been watching the Giantbomb quick looks after playing through each level. I don't know if it's more or less enjoyable because now I know how the game works. But oh my god they are so bad at it.

I was just trying to do this to an enemy last night, lol.

What I really want is the ability to subdue and grab people from behind low cover when their backs are to you. It's a common enough thing in stealth games that it seemed strange to me that I couldn't do it in this one.

You can do that. You can also pull people around corners.

Weird they let a bugged feature in the game including the announcment to remove it in the patch next month.

Maybe it was just a bad spot? I was in Sapienza last night going after Francesca De Santis, in the mansion
on the top-ish floor in the location where she talks on the phone in the spot you can electrocute her.
One of her personal guards leans up against a low wall and everyone else in the area conveniently turns their back to you. I was right up behind him and couldn't grab him.

Now this is a step in the right direction.
 
Question about the game. If I'm playing regularly and my internet disconnects, what'll happen?

Will the game just straight boot me back to the main menu or will it have a little while where it tries to reconnect? Because sometimes my internet goes down for a minute when the power goes out.

The game will pause and present you with the option of trying to reconnect or quit.

Okay game still isn't for people with no connection, but unlocks being available offline is huge for people with spotty connections.
 
I finally got a chance to sit down and play some last night and pretty much ran the prologue stuff to completion and did two runs on Paris. Having a ton of fun compared to Absolution (my only Hitman exposure).

I do have a question, how do you access the summer bonus episode stuff? I think I see some challenges for it on Paris, but I really haven't discovered a way to access it? I did a quick search and some people were saying something about January, but I bought the full edition and downloaded 5 gigs of something titled Summer Bonus episode.

Check Sapienza and Marrakech as Destinations, and the missions should come up in that tab.

They're not connected to the story, so they're not in that pipeline.
 
Really good update! Being new to this game is great. They seem really committed to making it better even though it's already an amazing game. Been loving playing this for the past week.
