I liked the first one. It had potential to be great for the sequel. Sadly FW was ok. I think is worse than the ZD. Horrible pacing, long, too much stuff even if it's optional. They go full ubi mode for FW. I'm done with Horizon. If they make it a third one the would have to be GOTY material. Dislike Alloy in FW. Talked to much and annoying. The sexual preference well i let it pass.

The combat and enemy design is some of the best and most unique in the industry.

They overcomplicated the combat in forbidden west though.

Unfortunately they listened to idiots crying about the melee system in Zero Dawn. They spread themselves too thin trying make a game that you can-

"play how you want"

They should have simplified the melee and coached/forced players to use there incredible 3rd person shooting mechanics.

You can't have best in class melee and shooting mechanics in the same game.

Yeah I dont really know what the writers where going for in FW. They made me actively hate Alloy, and I just gave up literally as I unlocked flight. What should have been a great moment of freedom just felt hollow because I had no interest in her character or seeing through her journy to the end. She was insufferable.

It had console bundles as Sony also did with almost every single other big Sony game, plus with many big 3rd party games. This BlackFriday they'll have a Fortnite bundle.

It had promise, but they made a game with a completely insufferable main character. I really loved how they channeled their inner Dragon Age: Veilguard at the end of the DLC for Forbidden West and said, "She's gonna be a lesbo whether you want her to be or not." I won't be playing the third game.

They gave it for free in a worldwide pandemic. Sony has sales and bundles for days as well. It's been shoved down the user base'a throat ad nauseam. It'd be funny to see how the revenue of the franchise is and compare it with how much was the budged for 2 games and a VR thing.

I think the 40 million copies also include the sales of "Call of the mountain" and that Lego Horizon game, don't they? Not that they count for a lot (the first was a niche game by default and the second seems to have been a big sales failure), but I think that the number is for all the games related to the Horizon IP...

I'm one of Sony's biggest critics but I don't hate Horizon. I kinda dig it.

I personally love Hoirzon and most of Sony's IPs honestly. I just don't get the irrational hate that people have with this series. There's other series I hate that people love but I don't go into those threads trying to come up with any excuse I can to try and downplay a game's popularity. I usually just avoid those threads or say it's not for me but I recognize I'm in the minority.
