im not suprise if the features actually part of original idea, but discarded due to numerous reason like how flying mechanic get removed due to technical issue..earlier leaked concept art of first game already hinting co-op element though

We don't know if that was for coop or just allies moved by ia.

right...but considering guerilla is used to make multiplayer element game, im not suprise if that actually part of their original idea

either way if the co-op is something similliar to mhw, im fine with it

I'm not.

I'm already pissed off that they are rushing the sequel for launch, but having a multyplayer game?

any source of this?
The fact that he is coming for launch just to have a big name at launch like they did with killzone and infamous (both saga rushed and ruined just to come out during launch window), we literally have 2 examples of brand rushed and ruined for launch by sony during current gen.

I know some people think that less than 4 years are enough for a sequel, i'm not among them, more time when you have a clear project is ALWAYS better, especially with a next gen massive open world game.

Also i'm a bit of a pessimistic guy.

I hope they don't go for some half-baked ideas instead of making improvements to an already excellent first game.

The world needs to be just big enough, not gigantic if the number machines remains relatively the same. Co-Op I'm cautiously optimistic but it needs to be done right.

Loved the first game. Not convinced it needs co-op. I only play competitive MP games as none of my mates are into the vidja to play co-op with.

so just a personal speculation?

chill out..we dont know nothing about the development progress...there no concrete evidence that it will be launch title or not

and i doubt the game would take less than 4 years..first game take 6 years..even botw took 5 years unless they actualy started development earlier than we thought

I don't need to chill, we are just discussing here :ROFLMAO:

And yes, a lot of people are convinced that horizon 2 is gonna be a launch title, and even if they started working on the sequel the day after they finished the first one, it is less than 4 years of work if the game come out in 2020.

I just hope people is wrong and horizon 2 is a 2022 game, i can absolutely wait for the sequel of my current gotg.

Co op Is not the same as a "multiplayer game"
It is still something that you have to study and waste time on it instead of putting all the resources into a single player game.

And having a companion controlled by your friend is technically a multyplayer feature.

I have faith too, just not during launch period where we already have 2 clear examples of big brand rushed and ruined for launch by them.

Just to chat a little bit more, do you remember any extraordinary game at launch in the last 3 gens?? It can't be always a coincidence that no game at launch is better than mildly good...

Zelda botw doesn't count, it was a wii u game ported on switch for launch, not an exclusive launch title for switch.

That's why i'm scared.

God of War lifted From Software’s combat and hub world design to no longer play anything like previous games.

So it’s still pretty obvious who’s ideas Barlog and crew stole.
Ignoring the tone, a good post pointing towards where Barlog and his team might have got their ideas from.

The first God of war game on PS2 also seems to be heavily inspired from another Japanese game, Rygar: The Legendary Adventure ( Argus no Senshi ) and Onimusha.

Does this mean Devil May Cry is also a souls copycat?
Devil may cry series has influenced a lot of game designs surrounding combat including the first God of War.

About Horizon Zero Dawn 2, the original game initially started as a co-op game but due to limited capabilities of PS4, that idea was put on back burner and with PS5, they are bringing it back.

as i remember, great game usually released once the console sales release certain milestone, expanding the market....the publisher want to makesure their game sales tons

about botw, i believe people speculated about hzd2 being launch title probably due to that...they might think that sony want hzd2 be their 'own botw' lol..sony no need that kind of quality game at launch..decent exclusives is enough

Think people will be disappointed if they're expecting HZD2 as a launch title. Just can't see it, they did make a fairly meaty DLC as well in the time after launch. I think they'll end their show with HZD2 as the big IP, coming in 2021.

I hope they don't lock 'summon mount' deep into a skill tree if the world is massive, or make more creatures rideable (or the numerous other 'essential skills'). I want actual melee combat to be viable, and not just because you have the Sylens spear at the end. I hated that it was probably still a better option to bow and arrow from 4 yards than try and spear someone with one swipe. It was basically jitter on the spot and fire arrows until headshot. Otherwise people were walking round with like 4/5 arrows in their bodies. Looked stupid.

I think the components need to be slightly bigger on certain animals, moreso the ones underneath. Unless they're tall to slide under like the thunderjaw it's a defunct skill and quicker to kill them. Didn't like the rockbreakers, thought they were unbalanced. Don't like how flying enemies when above you just fuck you up because you can't aim directly up.

Loved the tearblast, but on harder difficulties the time to pick the heavy weapons up was stupid. Especially against ravagers and stalkers. Ropecaster was a great item for crowd control.

They absolutely need passive animals. The 'herbivore' equivalents should be passive even f you walk past them. They should only become hostile if you attack them. Not just because their warning meter fills up. Also the density of the animal was way too much.

Would be good to see nicer armours aesthetically speaking. Though shadoweave made everything else superfluous anyway. I rocked the kestrel armour cos it looked badass, the rest just looked too grounded and boring

I think people know something that we dont...

It can't be a coincidence the fact that the entire planet is convinced that horizon 2 is a launch or launch window title...

Yes, Co-op was part of the design of the first game but since it affected the fidelity of the game, it was scrapped altogether.

I have linked the source of my claim in my previous post above

Youre awful and a bad troll and should be removed from any related horizon zero dawn associated thread
He's right about the painted ledges though. I have no idea why they're still a thing. May as well watch a five minute cut scene of the character climbing with some nice scenery in the background.

How do you know it'll make the game worse?

Because they have to balance the game 2 times, for single player and coop, a waste of time, money and resources for people who only want a single player game like me.

It makes the game automatically worst? Maybe not.

But it's not exactly the news you want to hear if you like your horizon 2 being a pure single player game.

I felt this was the case with Mass Effect 3. Going from 2 to 3 was jarring as many levels felt like multiplayer arenas instead of levels.

Same with Deadspace 3.

They exist because not any devs wants his level design being trivialized by free climbing everywhere.

In botw there is nothing stopping you from climbing that giant mountain with 10 stamina potion in your inventory and just pressing up in the controller instead of finding the optimal way.
And in the last 2 ac, you can basically assault every camp from every direction or not even thinking about skill in parkour movements because you can simply climb every fucking thing.

I know it's great in theory and work in some cases, but not all games require this or it's easy to implement.

Imagine aloy climbing a mountain and fucking all the dinobot from a safe place instead of fighting the right way, you can trivialize a lot fo things with free climb.

I recently re-played infamous 3 and in that game you can literally destroy all the enemy camps from high buildings without them being able to even hit you, yeah it is a power fantasy but say goodbye to any form of challenge with people exploiting this stuff.

Tsushima has some sort of ambiental puzzles that require platform movements and specific points where to use the grapple hook etc, with free climbing you can say adios to any form of puzzle.

The collectibles in spiderman were absolutely the worst because spidey can reach any fucking point so it just become trivial searching for them.

Sometimes good level design and puzzle need to restrict player movements to work correctly.
Jist look how many games have free climbing everywhere, just a couple.

Maybe I'm just cynical now but everytime I hear devs sing about how big their open world is, I can only get a bit worried ( I know this is just a report, but the point still stands). Most are just empty plains whose only gimmick is the fact you can walk to a more interesting place in the distance. I still think Gothic 1 and 2 have the greatest open worlds ever made.

I heard destiny had a big problem 2 with balancing every stuff for single and multyplayer.

It was a solid game for a new ip. Human AI was absolutely horrible, NPC and dialogues were totally emotionless and not memorable at all and the dodge roll spam wqs boring after a while. As a multiplatform game ratings would have been rather near 80 than near 90. If they adress the issues, it could be a great game. I also never got why it's supposed to be an RPG.
Agreed, for everybody's information I'm not saying it's bad, it's decent for what it is but there are things that I believe are holding it back from being genuinely good.

They consider it an RPG because it has a skill tree and dialogue options. BOTW is more of an RPG than this game.

I don't like it. I would prefer they reduced the size of the world and made it more interesting with actual interaction and exploration this time.

As long as the co-op doesn't interfere with sp mode in any way, shape or form I really can't wait to see this.

The original blew my bollocks off.

Agreed. I went in only wanting to kill robodinos, but ended up loving story, except the one bad guy that felt tagged on.

Breaking news! The -very likely because the first one sold a lot of copies- sequel of an open world game will have a very big world.

Wow. Hey look, I'm an insider too: FIFA 21 will have stadiums and you'll play soccer on them.
