So... maybe ( MAYBE ) it's a little common that gamers have some little nerdy behavior they act sometimes.... because sure I do! but not much.... but it's still there.

For example whenever I'm in a plane and it's starting to take off I play: FINAL FANTASY VIII - Ride On from my iPhone and it just give me a FANTASTIC mixed with EXCITEMENT feelings and so much joy :p

then after that I play FINAL FANTASY VIII - Breezy and watch the view out of the window... such a relaxation :)

This is my little nerdy behavior I do whenever I take a plane... of course there are others but I might share them later.

do you have a nerdy behavior as well :p ?

Share if you don't mind ~

Isn't this more off-topic?

Nerdy is not limited to games.

But the only music I have is games related, I have an extensive knowledge of current games. I almost always carry sci-fi or fantasy book(s) with me. And probably more.

You shouldn’t have an electronic device powered on during take-off, you’re gonna crash that shit.

EDIT: ^ NOOOO

When im in an airplane im sure to only take out and not only paint my anime girl figurines, I also blast Blind Guardian for everyone to hear and play DnD on IRC on my Iphone.

When the plane starts to take off, I take off my shirt with a witty video game saying on it to reveal a video game tshirt. I then pop open a bottle of gamer fuel and chug the entire bottle straight up.

As we are flying in the air, I start to watch my girly animes that are so kawaii. I then take out my portable game system and play Ar Tonelico

So A couple of days ago I was at my cousin's wedding. The best man, who was the groom's older brother gave this speech. It got a fair amount of laughs from the crowd (even though I'm sure most of the audience didn't get a lot of it) and the gamers were pretty close to losing it. I've changed the names and a comma usually means a pause in this speech. I think these words are a testament to how much gaming is starting to permeate our culture.

---

Wow,

After 26 years of sibling rivalry, you can see that my brother has finally figured out who the best man really is.

I mean this, this here is a Triumph….I’m even going to making a note here : HUGE SUCCESS. Even with well thought out words, It’s hard to overstate my satisfaction

In my mind and I am sure a few others, I want you to know I consider this marriage “Epic”…or “Purple” for some of you in the crowd. I know this will stand the test of time,
just as Link did with Zelda,
or Jim Raynor did with Sarah Kerrigan (before the war) .

If you know anything about my brother, you know that he likes video games. Daniel was never very social in the contexts of going out, and playing baseball, or competing in track and field. He never really liked the idea of sunlight, or fresh air, or RL as we like to call it. This is known as Real Life for the rest of you.

Daniel would spend hours and hours in the basement….sitting on a squeaky bunk bed on the cold concrete floor and usually a small jug of chocolate milk with some sour kids or a large bag of chocolate m&m’s as his sustenance of choice. After enough time he even got the name “Basement Troll”

Some might look down on Daniel for spending so much time in front of a screen, some might say 13 hours of video games in a day is too much. I disagree, I sat beside him playing these very games for all these countless hours. From Nintendo to Super Nintendo, N64 and Game Cube up to Wii Daniel devoted his life to helping Mario save the Princess. There was no stopping him, he swam through oceans littered with squids and fish, trudged through deserts infested by dancing cacti. He has killed countless turtles and battled Bowser more times than I can count. I didn’t know it then, But I know it now. My Brother was practicing for “This Very Day” I am very happy to know that my brother found his Princess, and she is not in another castle!

Daniel, I wish you and Heather all the best now and forever. As you go through life together, always love each other, respect each other and be there for each other. Never forget to say "I'm sorry" when you mess up and never go to bed angry. Separately, you're both wonderful people, but together you take life to a new level. I love you both. Congratulations!

My two year old likes to murmur toons. He was present once when I was playing 3DS. The first 6 notes of Saria's Song from OoT is something that he belts out every now and then.

The nerdy part I GUESS is that I smile a bit when he does it.

Edit: Sometimes when I'm tired and I take my first sip of coffee, the power up noise from SMB, or the level up noise from Kid Icarus plays inside my head.

This reminds me of a story my cousin told me the other day. In one of his college classes the teacher grades in smiley faces (from 3 to 1) and exclamation points (from 3 to 1). So the scale goes from three smiley faces to one exclamation point. He told me that he usually does pretty badly and gets a single exclamation point, which then causes him to make the Metal Gear Solid "you've been spotted" noise. He said one guy in the class always laughs and that's it.

Side note: I have no idea why a junior level Industrial Engineering class is being graded on such a scale.
