I happened to go over a friend's just after the cup. His wife was all 'omg the US team just won the women's world cup!'

I just deadpanned her "women's world cup? I didn't know that was a thing. Awesome, tho."

This powered my smile for at least 24 hours.

What argument? Your pay in a position like that should depend almost entirely upon what you can bring in in corporate sponsors, viewers, merchandising, and ticket sales. Not sure what sex has to do with it. Maybe twitter has too many woke wannabe socialists on it? I mean it is called twitter after all, one should expect a lot of twits.

The US mens team is so trash we failed to qualify for the World Cup out of CONCACAF. The US women's team are world champions.

If anything, based on who actually wins, the US women should be paid 10 times what the men make.

In other nations though, the men making a lot more than the women is the correct state of affairs.

Money money money is what ruins the sport entirely.

Humble doesn't seem to exists in america.

The US men group are trash because there is no funding and they don't get far because of it.
The US woman are trash and face even more trashy players on the field because they most likely earn single handedly more then multiple teams combined in there own division.

Its unreasonable to expect equal pay based off of things like effort and identity politics.

Totally different sport but the only sport where I think women could demand the same pay is with tennis and even then it's only for certain competitions and certain players. Definitely not all.
